I think he's on a power trip...consuming the mutants and stealing their powers so he can be the ultimate being. I have this theory that in the regular time line, Sylar devours Claire, enabling him to regenerate...which means he'd be practically invincible (as if telekinesis wasn't enough!)...and he'd be the cause of the earth's destruction...(maybe he'd steal mr. atomic bomb too...) But since they saved the cheerleader in this alternate time...this won't happen...at least not yet..
There was one thing that bothered me though...Hiro said that the past cannot be changed...wouldn't that technically mean that they cannot prevent the earth's destruction? Maybe...Claire isn't saved for good...season 2 dun dun dun! lol.
so what gift did sylar start with? or is it that hes regular and if anyone non-mutated person kills a mutant and eats their brain they get his power?
ps. i missed the first half of the episode today. why is the older brother all banged up and pissed? and who was the guy that the scientist father was talking to?

what if by killing a person, their soul is released and syler consumes it, so that's why he hit the first guy on the head.
i wonder what's the story behind the markings on their necks
and nikki's power could be ability to provide the dead with a medium to come back through her body, she just doesnt know it yet
I preferred this week's show to last week's hype, surprisingly.
Nikki's power is super human strength- I believe the only 'dead' person she'll be able to 'host' is Jessica.
Spitty- I have the show saved on my PVR if u wanna come by and watch it soon. Let me know, I periodically erase things after a bit.

so then it was jessica who had special powers, she died but she is able to come back through her living sister and manifest her powers, or something like that
this show kills it....I download it every week n watch it 3,4 times on dvd....
Im downloadin ep10 rite now I havent scene it yet....

Sucks that she died 
But I guess it was better to shoot herself in the head rather than be consumed....this way, Sylar won't acquire her power.
Lots of twists in this episode...awesome.
I also thought it was horrible that Claire's father wanted to erase her memories...but the Haitian dude won't do it...wonder why.

OK - I've seen eps 1 - 4 now.
In ep 4 there's a reference made to Peter meeting Isaac and painting something from the future.
I watched all 3 eps on Sunday and I dont recall seeing a scene where Peter meets Isaac and then paints something from the future himself?
Did a somehow doze off through this scene? Am I just forgetting about it? Did the eps I download just not (somehow) include this scene?
If someone could tell me the episode its supposed to be in, and what happens that would be greatly appreciated.
I wanna try to figure this out.
