Yeah, that was the case this year, too. Seems there was better ordering and scheduling compared to last year. I didn't even come close to losing my cool. Last year my manager pulled me off of the floor literally right before I cursed out a customer. Good timing. :-/

All right. worked black friday. a fucked a semi-retarded woman out of her bundle rebate. She bought a phone+2 year service, a CRT monitor and a printer that was all SUPPOSED to be free after rebate. Of course, she also needed to get the computer itself for the whole deal to work, but i figure hey THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. she knows whats going on amirite lololol
Her debit card is processed and ::gonk:: she doesn't get the rebates. HAHALOLOL. and for more ZING, she has to return everything and re-buy again, this time WITH the computer. and for MORE GOD DAMN ZING, we don't take returns on phones that have activations on them. She would have to call Cingular themselves to sort out the mess. LOLOLOL
But i felt bad cus it sort of led to my co-worker spending 45 minutes with Anne Franke and the people at cingular.

I wasn't an asshole to these customers, i just gave them the "don't give a fuck, so what, eat ass, lalalalolololloroflrolfol". I rang them up for some shitfuck computer+monitor bundle for like $800+. and they go "WHAT? it says right here $499!" I, in a non-assholeic way, say "ahhhhhhh yes,.......rebate." and that's the last thing i said to them. I wanted them to figure it out and from that point on, I was only going to either nod or smile. The huband agressively pointed at the number "$499" over and over again, which, right under it explained all the rebates that went along with it. Eventually, the bitchfuck of a wife asked to speak to my manager. So i got my manager and she started pissmoaning about how I was purposely inflating the price and not being customer-oriented. Manager looks at me, i sigh out loud and start explaining that they should've known they were getting the rebate deal and that when I usually buy my ferraris, i completely understand what i'm getting myself into, especially if it had 256megs of SD ram. doesn't matter, they aren't getting the rebate for the monitor anyways.

some lady started bitching to me about not wanting to pay tax on an LCD tv because she was from england. Once the bitching got to that limit, i say "ok, so i guess you don't want it" and i voided out the transaction, went on my co-workers register and started ringing up the customers that were waiting for her to stop cockshitting.
After i rung up two customers, she demanded i return to her and ring her up. i say "are you going to pay the tax?" she says "of course not!" I ignore her and continue ringing up other customers and she demands to see my manager. She starts pissing and moaning and eating her clit and ass and shit over it and finally buys the TV. "i'll never shop here again!" fuck, you just bought most-returned LCD TV for factory shipped dead pixel fault. and fuck if they let you return it, i fucked your serial number BAD.

Some chick gave me the fakest checks i'd ever seen. The routing numbers were fucking printed off an injet. LAME. Doesnt matter, i tried taking anyways but the machine rejected it. She told me she'd be back in 5 minutes with her debit card. Doesn't matter, i gave it to someone else the minute she walked out the door.

Fuck, my drawer was $64 over tonight.

Fuck that guy that walked into the exit 15 minutes after we shut the front door. "what happens if i buy a laptop and open it and want to return it?" "well, opened would be exchange only with a 15% restocking fee." ::GONK::"what if i just want to see what it looks like?" c'mon...

One of my co-workers has some weird ethics (he's from serbia). he got into an argument with some lady because he was farting in front of her and making comments about the smell. the lady said "don't you have any respect for ladies?" and they went back and forth for about 3 minutes and then he said "well, i mean, you girls just use us for our money and stuff." I was like OMG!!!!!HAHAHLOLOLOL
I was like half "HE SHOWED YOU WHOSE SUCKING WHOSE COCK!" and half "OOHH SHIT. she calls for the manager and we're all FUCKED!"

Can someone also explain what's with this Tax rebate thing? Do you get money off your income tax if you buy lots or something?!

I am glad I don't shop on black friday. it's been years since I even tried.

when i woke up today at 4 pm, i was a little irritated that I have to work all weekend (not retail, but in manufacturing). after reading the crap you guys are dealing with, i feel like my weekend will be a cakewalk. Thanks TA!

Tax rebate could be a check from tax refund (Usually arives in April - July) for those who overpaid their income taxes. Rather complex formula. In some states, they have property tax refund - again, some interesting system that allows some homeowners get a portion of their taxes refunded, if the state has a property tax relief system in place. Usually applies to lower income families and senior citizens.

You also have a way to write off some expenses related to your business off your annual (or quarterly) corporate taxes. If someone who has a company buys something they use for their business, they can claim that expense on their tax refund and pay less taxes. Say you spent $1000 on a PC you use for your business. You made $100,000 that year from your business. This would be something that you can write off on your taxes and pay tax not on $100,000 but on $99,767 ($1000 you spent on PC gets armortizes over a period of something like 3 years).

Essentially, there are various loopholes/laws to allow smarter/richer folks to avoid paying some percentage of the taxes. Also, if you are a business or religious entity, you may have a "tax exampt" certificate - which means that certain purchases can be made tax free. In case of tax exampt organizations, they either are buying it to re-sell it to someone else and don't have to pay the tax, coz the end consumer will pay it... or if you're clergy - well, that's the biggest scam of all, as you don't pay shit in taxes. Talk about separation of Church and State (cough cough).
