who knows how his routing is set up, everytime ive seen him (even the times he using ssl with ableton as opposed to just ableton) he rarely even touches the cdj's so i dont know what he's using SSL for. i didnt read any conclusions that the mystery box from the vanguard rukes pics is an audio interface from the ssl board. it looks like the furthest thing form an audio interface anyways and the times ive seeen it, it just flashes different colored lights in various patterns...im gonna email vandit about it since no one seems to be able to figure out what it is.

lol @ responses
I agree that his gear looks lovely and probably works a charm, but it would be a lot better just to use maybe his laptops, and a Xone 3D.
tbh, I still prefered the good ol' days where he used turntables and a mixer. It sounded great back then.
I've only heard the odd set by him this year and he's still pretty good at being creative I guess.
As PvD uses more equipment, I've noticed that he has done a better job at throwing tracks of different styles into his sets and actually making those tracks sound as if they were just made for each other (not always though). I would rather have him spin like this than play for 90% of his sets just trance which has been getting more and more boring with literally each month.

So how does this all works?
There is my best assumption.
Two CDJ-1000MK3s has the Serato Scratch Live Time Coded CD input to Serato scratch box, and the audio signals are carried to Abelton Live onto his laptop on his right. Abelton also has the interaction with M-Audio USB sample pad as well as the electronic keyboard and then all the signal carries back to the Xone 92 3D mixer.
Phew, thats tough one...

Plus he has 2 laptops, so if one crashes he can use the other until he's rebooted!

Ableton puts out MTC (Midi Time Code), which can be used to sync Serato, there's no special plug in required (or vice versa, Serato is master and live slaves to the MTC).
