it was all right. i saw it opening night. i prefer pierce
Craig was ok, but I think I prefer Brosnan.
Despite what everyone says about Die Another Day - I thought the opening before the credits was perhaps the best Bond stuff ever. VERY realistic and whay spy movies should include. The rest went downhill, but the car chase on ice was pretty cool

Alright so I'm behind on my comment, and the last post is over a month old but I'm replying anyway..
I thought Casino Royale was piss poor. Daniel Craig is the shit as bond, dont get me wrong. But the movie was shit. The whole texas hold em scene where the villain goes all in and bond's cohorts are in the background saying "That means he has to put all his chips in to stay in the game" WTF, no shit you dont have to be a poker genius to know that.
The whole movie was drawn out as hell. The action scenes were good, the torture scene was good, but other than that.. This is one of the worst bond movies I've seen.
Granted I haven't read the book, and yes it was bonds first mission.
I would like to see another bond movie with D.C. as Bond.
Am I the only one who didn't think this movie was the shit?
oh yea...
Flame on...
I thought it was very good. Our generation is more cynical and it's much easier to buy this Bond as an intelligence officer - rough former SAS type, totally emotionally detached. The love story towards the end was way too drawn out for me, but I guess this is supposed to be the story of how Bond became the man he is (hence the Bond theme at the very end). I think Brosnan was not a great Bond, way too much of a pussy. I think DC could be a great new Bond hough I'll have to wait for the next one to decide whether he can pull it off.
yeah good movie
although im a big poker player, n the poker scenes kinda pissed me off. i mean flush, higher flush, 4 of a kind, straight flush?
where's the need to bluff when u get these hands every betting round?

I also though this movie was great and DC is the best Bond since Connery. The last few Bond films had degenerated the franchise basically into nothing more than a cheesefest of impossible stunts and ridiculous gadgets (invisible cars and giant lasers made of diamonds, come on). Some of that stuff is to be expected in Bond films but it had gotten completely out of control.
I was glad to see him with very few gadgets, and a car that was basically just a car that actually fell apart when he wrecked it. And Bond killing people badass style by beating the fuck out of them was good too. And Le Chiffre was a bit of a limp-wristed puss for a Bond villan but then was he really the villan after all?
All in all a quality film that has me excited about the next one.
I kinda hoped that they'd put the movie in pre first Bond movie time, so there'd be old cars and stuff, but it wasn't really that important to me. I had my doubts about Daniel Craig, but he certainly pulled it off very nicely. Better than Brosnan for sure. The self-shock thing was rediculous though. 9/10
thought the movie was over at the last beach scene
then it went for another 10-15 after that. DC was an intense bond, the badass type that fleming envisioned i think. the brosnan movies were pretty decent, except for die another day, was sorta cringing and rolling my eyes for that one. that was the low point for me.
I'm excited to see whats next...this was a good start for him, and he plays well.
