This track used to kill. Now it's just sad.

Take No Shhhhhhhhhh is the same. I luff it now

Cool track, if a little over played. It's catchy dance music that works in a club, not every track has to hold your hand and whisper gently to your soul
Doesn't have any long term appeal, but I don't think it's intended that way.

Furthermore:

The Liverpool fans were chanting at a recent football match, to the tune of this track:

"Put your hands up for Dirk Kuyt!"

Rather clever for scousers I thought

I'm going to post a Kenneth Thomas quote regarding this track just to get the record straight on a few things...

quote:
Its funny to see all the hype on this track the last few months.

Im from Detroit. The original sample of this is from a whitelabel/unreleased record by a local producer. Its been bootleged a good handful of times and such and you hear it all over Detroit.

Every year at the DEMF you will hear it a good 10 times.

When i first heard this version at some afterhours in Edmonton i was impressed that a "bootleg" version of the track got all the way out there, then i found out it was a commercial release on a large label and was quite amused.

Just alittle history on the track from a Detroiters perspective

Personally, being from the Detroit and hearing one of the many versions over the years, i honestly do like it. Like 5am in a back room crap hole afterhours in burned down Downtown with like 100 people just jammin it can grab ya. I quess you need to have that connection to the city though.

The new remix that is in discussion now isnt that bad. Its a bit cheeky, but thats what it supposed to be. I dont think it supposed to be a revolutionary track by any means, its supposed to be a fun party record. Something you drop in a nasty late night set or something.

Just some thoughts

If you look at the EXIF data it says this picture was taken in 2004 lol. Honestly I think its a decent tune. It grows on ya. It wasn't meant to be a serious song. Just a club tune.

jesus! leave the track alone, its a good track. Its the way it was over publicized and made everyone get comepletely fed up with it thats the problem. The track however is well produced and catchy. Much better then some of the trance i find stuck up some peoples arses.

Posted by Xtatica on Dec-06-2006 16:56:

oh no far from it.........try some of the aussie forums...like onelove for example, most immature ******s ever there lol. this forum is pretty good actually if we could all escape this "cheesy" vs "non cheesy" fiasco

Posted by dj_kaleem on Dec-07-2006 07:35:

It's alright. Works pretty good on the dancefloor although its being overplayed as hell. catchy tune, but I'm sure people are gonna get tired of it soon...

That's because it's a sample that's been used plenty of times in the past.

And I hate to admit it, but I did enjoy this tune once when it was dropped by Donald Glaude (click). However, (and maybe this is just me not wanting to admit that I actually liked the tune ) I think it had more to do with Glaude's enthusiasm.

you go looking for trance in peoples arses?

Posted by trancepunkk on Dec-07-2006 09:35:

i think what people get pissed off about is not that its in their opinion a shit tune. they know fedde le grand isnt really trying to do anything revolutionary and he is just trying to make a fun and catchy sorta track but wat pisses them off is all teh uneducated little dick heads who go around saying its the best track ever made and shit..........that and the fact that hes dutch but called it "put your hands up for detroit"

So if you're from a certain area, you can't love another certain area? You're also forgetting that he did not write the words to it, it's a sample that's been used time and again.

its just a dumb fuck thing to do........i mean why detroit of all the fucken places in the world does he choose that???? why use that sample? who not just use nothing if your going to be such a dick head

Posted by Trance Nutter on Dec-07-2006 10:22:

The worst part of this song is not the vocal sample but that atrocious bassline. That and the track is so predictable. And the track builds up and then............................. shithouse superficial bassline. Its like sobering up half way through sex with a swamp donkey and realising

I don't not like the track cos its cheesy or popular, I don't like it cos I think its poo
