I can understand the concept. I can even say it sounds nice on a big system in a club.

But; If the big trance DJ's wanted to play this track, why don't they just go and load up their beatport cart in the REAL minimal section and pick out something far tastier.

Same problem with this as with the electro-trance Life Less Ordinary. Whats the point, when there is a real genre of BETTER music out there to pick from.

Good point. Just shows how lazy most of the trance jocks are. Instead of looking for good music they rely on already established names and take blindly anything they have to offer.

It doesn't look like death-metal.

great tune

just heard this track, like a few other users said build ups for nothing during the course of the song, however the overall beat and feel is very good, those build ups suck ass...

Posted by shaminii on Feb-01-2007 20:08:

At first I heard this, it sucked. I realized it only works good if mixed into a mix. It works well as a buildup songs. That is all.

Yeah Grasshopper really is awful. Now he seems to be trying to repeat the success of The Sky Was Pink (Holden Mix). I did like Grass-Hopper though (the one that hasn't been released yet and has a dash in the middle of the title), it's nothing original either as it copies that Alex Stealthy-esque sound, but I still like its sound and melody. I wonder if Grass-Hopper will have any success among RESPECTED (which means not trance) DJ's.

Sander Van Doorn has distilled all his experience of playing to dancefloors around the world and poured them into one laser-guided dancefloor-destroying missile of a tune that shows Sander is more than willing to experiment and take brave new steps with his music and this is reflected in his DJ sets too the man is in a league of his own. When he can evolve like this while still pushing dance music forward then surely his rise to the top in 2007 will be unstoppable. If you cant handle this then you can put on your headphones stick your copy of Tri-State on to try to block it out but neither this or him are going away. Masterful.

Hah HAH HAH HAH oh I think I just shit myself with laughter...

Red face

sean tyas is getting bashed for always using the same sounds, and now sander is bashed for adding a new twist to his style.. what do you want? i think grasshopper is a decent track. why is there such a hype (positive and negative)? i dont get it.

oh, and it's cool that he does what he likes, so why should anyone bother? period.

This tune is toilet.

I dont mind him doing what he likes, and trying something new at all.

But its funny when some clueless reviewer decides to say "he's in a league of his own" and "pushing dance music forward" when people like Stephan Bodzin and countless others have been making tunes like this for years. Sounds like a run-of-the-mill tech house release to me. Its not bad. But its not ground-breaking
