What I don't understand, is why Marcel picked Michael to help out, since he's lousy under pressure. Ilan stuck to what he knew most, playing it safe, as usual - blah, blah, blah, one-dimensional Spanish... For Ilan saying he wanted to piss on Marcel - that's just flat-out GAY! The way he said it, added to the suspense. However, I LOL'd so f'in hard.

Sam would've destroyed Ilan. Face it... Line Cook vs. Executive Chef - no contest. However, seeing Sam and Marcel in the finals would've been kickass, too...

I think the problem might have been that None of the potential sous chefs liked Marcel. Hell, nobody likes him. In the end maybe he screwed himself with the cocky attitude.

If I was one of his sous chefs he would have won. He would have had the fish, and I could have found a way to make the "glass" thingys work. Also I would have clued him about the fuckin salad omg.

The salad was lame. Plus, I don't believe Michael really cared in helping out Marcel. Sam was nice enough to help redeem Marcel's third course, from the absence of the fish - still turned out to be a good dish, according to the comments given. Again, all Sam.

The layout of the last elimination was very lame, as a finals elimination. This should've been a 1 vs. 1 elimination with extra time to prepare, not 1 vs. 1 plus two sou chefs which turned out to be losers of the previous rounds. This did put Marcel in a bind, since everyone hated him - his Ghosts of Episodes Past, if you will. Karma prevails, once again...

Personaly, I thought the fact that they had to pick two chefs that were previously eliminated was a bad call. All of those people kind of had bad blood with Marcel. And why the fuck did he pick Micheal. Definently wouldn't depend on him to be there 100% for the final.

I thought Marcel was better than Ilan in the creativity of the dishes. Ilan kept making Spanish dishes. I don't think any other chefs on the show focused their dishes on one cuisine. Marcel showed he was more versitile and more creative in his approach. Ilan just stuck to the same old method of Spanish focused dishes.

Fucking Elia. She blurted out right away when asked who she thinks should win should be Ilan. Total bias and probably still has a grudge against him when she looked like an ass last week. Again, bringing the chefs that have lost the competition back into the competition just seems to worsen the situation. They shouldn't even have asked for their opinions. What I get from this show is that it's not a "top chef" competition, it's a cooking competition. How well you can display your culinary talent. By asking the sou chefs how they liked working in the kitchen with the two finalists, it brings in elements that are not important in judging the food. It probably just makes for good TV.

So, did Ilan win based on his food. I think both Marcel and Ilan had equal amounts of complimants and rants about their dishes. In my opinion, Marcel won it through versitility and creativity. They probably knocked off the points for having the disorganization in the kitchen, but is this a cooking competition or a competition based off your ability to run a kitchen?

Sam - total pro in the kitchen. Good team leader - his job title speaks for itself...Executive Chef.

Betty - not a chef. She's a homecook, at best. I wouldn't invite her over, to cook for me.

Elia - good cook, and creative. However, she turned into a real bitch, after Betty left. It just goes to show how SOME women try to "hold it down" on their own, and fail. It all started, with the head shaving thing. Sorry, she's not badass.

Cliff - control freake, hot-tempered asshole, as a teamplayer, and cannot handle pressure. Need I say more?

Michael - he looks, acts, and performs like your average 6am Monday morning deli cook, serving scrambled egg sandwiches, bagels, and coffee.

Ilan - One-dimensional Spanish Cuisine cook - that is all. Oh yeah, I forgot - he publically announced that he wanted piss on Marcel. I see an R. Kelly video, in his future...

Marcel - I'll admit, he's a little cocky, but he has to talent to back it up. He'll turn any food culture into a masterpiece.

Padma - I hit it.

There were conflicting comments about this by the judges, but I think it's clear that Top Chef is about more than just straight cooking skills.

The position of chef is a management position and people skills are vital. That doesn't mean you have to be nice, or popular, but you have to be able to get people to do what you want consistantly.

Thanks, I think I've followed the show too well, for my own good.

She is very high class, and sexy. Those Blonde Bimbos of Orange County don't have shit on her.

uncreative, boring episode, not enough suspense, ended way too fast, Michael sucks, Ilan sucks, I'm never watching Top Chef again if there's another season becuase I'm so disappointed Marcel lost.

BTW I can't believe the comments about the women that you dumbasses are capable of making is about how either she's a bitch or you wanna put it in her ass... or both... I can't believe you don't realize how disrespectful you little children are sometimes

both, if you can't work as a team in a restaurant you will fuck up. simple as that. i think this program wants someone who is well rounded, not just someone who can cook a badass meal.

that said, i believe Marcel is pretty well rounded, very good chef and team player, and shouldve won. too bad everyone had a grudge against him.

True, but I think the line between the two were sort of skewed in the show. If it had to go to the most well rounded person, it was definently Sam. Cooked well and executed well. I don't know much about the cooking competitions that are behind the scenes, but I think they would judge more on the food than the kitchen dynamics. I think Top Chef needs to differenciate better between the two. At times they would focus too much on one aspect and at times they would focus on the other. But then again, I wouldn't use Top Chef as an example of a world class culinary competition. It's more made for TV dynamics.
