You couldn't have illustrated my point clearer. And you really truly needed to say that why?

I didn't think that you would be the first to put their foot in it.

Seems to be the way with some. As soon as something is said that they don't agree with they claim stupidity. If it doesn't make sense to you despite the ample references then educate yourself with all of the tools at your finger tips to do so. Before you have to come out in public and admit to not being able to get it. To only hurry off into "invisible mode" as some statement. LOL, That part is so funny. Have some self respect.

It's hard to agree with something that makes no sense. Simple fact of the matter is, more often than not, your posts give the impression of being some rambling thoughts that were typed out without being thought-out. Me and you been over this - back when you started posting here, it took you like 3 edits before your post resembled a paragraph of highschool-English coherence. No one is hiding behind a veil of stupidity here, we just can't understand what the fuck you're saying. Now maybe we're all significantly less intelligent than you, or maybe you need to find whoever taught you English and give them a good smack in the face for doing such an bang-up job of it.

I tried to understand where you were going with that quote-athon you posted on page 1, but I ultimately failed. I know it was criticism of She_fitz (or maybe rabbitjoker?), but I can't quite understand what you were criticizing. Although, I'm fairly certain you just missed the globs of sarcasm her original post was dripping with, which just created a big ball of misunderstanding on both sides that we're all trying to sort out now.

Keeping in mind what I said about the original post being sarcastic, I don't agree with it any more than you do. So (I think) we're on the same side here. However, having witnessed many discussions revolving around the same idea, I'll bring you up to speed on a few "universal" truths of TA:

quote:

1) House is supreme to Trance. If EDM was the BurgerKing chain, House (particularly Tribal) would be the CEO, and all sub-genres of Trance would be the people earning minimum-wage.

NEVER try to agrue this on TA, no matter how ridiculous the statement will at first seem. You will never win. House = evolved, deep, music genre; Trance = E + retardedness. Eventually, whenever you will see a self-proclaimed househead making some sort of derogatory statement toward Trance, you will just see it as THE TRUTH, and it won't even bother you. You may disagree with THE TRUTH. But it is THE TRUTH. And, naturally, #2 follows from #1:

quote:

2) Trance-bashing is funny, original, and more importantly, always encouraged. It doesn't matter how ridiculous the bashing is. House-bashing, on the other hand, will ALWAYS result in #1 being proved to you. If it's not proved, they will just cal you a Trance cracker who doesn't understand the beauty of House (aka proof of #1). Game over.

Tiesto-bashing NEVER grows old. You can make 1000000001 references to Armin standing on the decks during his set, and it will be just as funny as the first time.

Hopefully, with these two simple rules in hand, you should be able to participate (although a lot of times it's better to pretend they don't exist, to help reduce your blood pressure) and understand threads like these much better. Hell, soon enough you'll be joining in on the fun.

I think Margs skipped out on half that day...remember I had to teach her she could double quote without having to write out what the person said.

To bring you up to speed.. I had not logged off TA last time I was on Slingshot's computer..

What do you get when you combine Slingy + Shanny + sense of humour + access to my TA account?

A Shelley loves trance parties thread and someone taking things way too seriously.

I did not mention spamming once.. my reference was to your quick judgement
(British - judgement.) of me or should I say my stand-ins for judging trance. Then to draw attention to my spelling and make spelling mistakes in you subsequent posts.. which brings me back to my point regarding your judgement of others..

I've been trying to tell him this for a week in PMs, but I just kept getting back these insanely long responses that would have taken me hours to disect. Eventually I gave up. I'm glad there are other people here that share my thoughts.

Ok, but unfortunately my issues have never been based around Trance at all. I wish. I would so love to have an argument about Trance then all of the random malice that flies about TA at unsuspecting newbies. Or when a simple question is posed, people that don't have anything to offer the thread, JUST HAVE TO make some shitty comment out of there insecurity. Insecurity stemming from that lack of knowledge. In my 'Rave' thread, it was a page and a half before 'exstasie' had the balls to say quite simply that he had never been to one. Fuck. He had never been to one but he wanted to say something so he said that. Perfect. Others, instead, filled the front of the thread with rhetoric and crap. Why? So much off topic shit that just doesn't need to be said. Then, predictively, others that actually have something quality to offer do so and it becomes a good read. If somebody has nothing to offer the topic, why do people have to dream up pointless flaming. Why?

I see and understand your process here trying to explain your interpretation of, the ever infamous line, "The way it is...." here at TA. Thank you as all knowledge is good. Unfortunately it's all Gin and no fizz. In a way it could be 'our' form of code as it is sure to be lost on most here. All but a precious yet growing few. (That last sentence was NOT a flashing neon sign saying, FLAME ME) nuff said on that? They know who they are.

A perfect world not withstanding along with friendly ribbing here and there. Both understandable if not expected. But why the flaming? I'm personally a bit shocked that it's so pervasive that there's actually a word for it. Why do people want that? And please. If anyone feels tempted to say yet another form of "that's just the way it is here..." please don't bother.

Point of interest: A curious and unpredictable condition has been evolving for some time here at TA. A steady and ever growing faction of like/kind minded people has been making there presence known to me. Completely unsolicited. Even when I noticed this I continued to say nothing to any of them that they were not the only ones saying thanks. To the point now that everyday I laugh more and more. So funny because I know that I have done nothing to precipitate it! lol Enough of them now that I just have to say ---->Thanks Everybody!<--- What else can I say. I'm sure not going to start a he said she said in this room at this point.

I guess the one thing that I have learned the most here is that no matter how hard I try or "Dumb it down", there is nothing I can do to MAKE some people understand. If there is some compatibility issue, fine. Some people don't understand, fine. Such is life. But what I DON'T understand is when this happens, the same group of people still insist on saying something. And it's never good, inquisitive, even nice or on topic. Why? Just...just..., why? This is Toronto man....CANADA! Whether "The Group" admits it or not, it makes us look bad. On top of that, I also know for a fact that it's exacerbating our already tenuous rep with the rest of the provinces. Ever looked?

I'm really glad you finally had that moment. Seems like it was a long time coming. Nice

Also,THIS thread might be a good one to check out

Or even this one.

First you flame her for not knowing that this is Traceaddict and not Tits and Ass (veeeeeeeery funny).

Then you post a few sentences where you are talking to yourself with some "rhetoric and crap".

Then you try to change topics and have everyone go to your other thread (that no one was interested in!).

House is an uncontrollable desire to jack your body.
And, as I told you before, this is our house and our house music.
And in every house, you understand, there is a keeper.
And, in this house, the keeper is Jack.
Now some of you who might wonder,
"Who is Jack, and what is it that Jack does?"
Jack is the one who gives you the power to jack your body!
Jack is the one who gives you the power to do the snake.
Jack is the one who gives you the key to the wiggly worm.
Jack is the one who learns you how to walk your body.
Jack is the one that can bring nations and nations of all Jackers together under one house.

C'mon! Isn't that self explanatory? Actually somebody PMed me saying that was pretty damn funny

New paragraph, new topic. New paragraph, new topic.
Now how was that pointed at anybody but the person I quoted? Certainly not "Everyone" and if you feel so compelled to follow that link intended for somebody else, ya kinda gotta take what you get, no?

quote:

What is wrong with this picture? Hypocrite much?(*gr?)

You tell me.

Ok, I promised myself that I wouldn't do this. But. It's so easy proving your point when you take something out of context. Had you included her post with your quote of me and minus the target on my back, I think where I was coming from might have been clearer.

The fact that I put a link to one of my threads never ocured to me as being something wrong. It wasn't for you, it was for her and it WAS on point. This is the first I have heard that it might have been wrong or in poor taste. I apologize if it was wrong.

Another thing that you aren't taking into consideration is that alot of the way I act or react is out of conditioning. To seemingly innocuous questions or statements, I've encountered (and not harmless banter like some would pass it off as) some totally out right meanness. As I said. Un-Canadian. Nowhere in my life do I start anything from a point of nastiness in anyway to anybody. To be honest. There has been no group, clique, class ...whatever, that I haven't been able to get along in or even excel at.

I've been told that many here not only know each other personally. Not to mention well. Not to mention for years and years. Not only that but since childhood. So you tell me. How is the average unsuspecting person supposed to compete with that? The fact that there is rampant misunderstandings with people here that don't have this benefit, seems like some of the most normal/natural thing here. That makes sense. Believe me. It took a beating 3-4 times and with barely any ass left, did I ever act by example and pick up a whip. To your credit, perhaps I'm not that great at it. Thank god.

Your right, I must be an idiot. No sooner did I promise myself that I wouldn't waste my time trying to explain myself to people but here I am. The only reason I can think of is that you took the time so, to this point, it seems worth while. Not like the customary 2, 3 letter word responses I've grown accustomed to.

You want to know how 'I' contrast most here? (Operating on available knowledge only) If an acquaintance of mine sleeps under a piece of plywood one night because he had no ware to go and didn't want to bug me after midnight on a week night. I give him shit. Not for sleeping under plywood on my property but because he didn't come inside out of the cold, no matter whet the hour. (True story)

To be proven wrong on that point would be awesome. Really I mean that. But how?

A rare time finding myself out of my element? Huge! Perhaps in part the fascination of all this. After all it would have to be something morbid like that to stick, don't you think? Where else in life can you feel as useless as a bag of smashed assholes and not up and get the fuck out of Dodge?
