Well what the fuck are you talking about low key "shizzz" then? I don't think Daft Punk, Cassius, Dimitri from Paries, Laurent Garnier, Tim Paris are exactly low key and what they were making 5-10-15 years ago is what had a HUGE influence on what's coming out of Sweded from Prydz, Angello, Ingrosso etc, just far less shit.

Also, What the fuck does Dahlback have to do with anything?

Are you too dense to realize any of this? For the amount you quote "love" this music, you have no concept of the history/progression of it. Shit, I'm young too, but I've spend time listening to house from the past and present, know your roots!

Also French House is more than just house from France.

+1. their recognizable sounds differ (imo) perhaps too much. i'd rather compare sinclar to the Kandi sound then to one of the SHM

I've never heard of Tim Paris, and you're right, I am very young and don't know the roots of edm.

What I mean by low-key, is far less radio/club play than commercially played out tracks.

I mention Dahlback in that fashion because he has not only conquered the less popular style of tech house, but of the popular style as well.

I'm not dense, and I don't mean to come off as that. For everyone's information though, what is french house that isn't French?

fries that arent french, toast that isnt french, dip that isnt french...IT WORKS OUT YAKNOW

I'm not even gonna bother arguing what most of this, waste of my time.

But about French House,

What does get big play isn't nearly as cheesey and most of all isn't as formulaic as most of the SHM.

Les Rhythmes Digitales (Not french, but definetely french house)...

Also let's not forget about all the other shit Bangalters done... other notables who've worked with some of the above like Alan Braxe, Fred Falke, etc.

French house has had a way bigger impact on the world of music than most of those swedish guys could dream of.

I think you're taking it like I love Swedish house more... I never claimed the mafia is supreme lord over all of house. What got you so angry all of a sudden?

Not anger, just annoyed. Ignorance annoys me.

Nothing on you, but I'd seriously learn some more about music before you start trying to debate about it.

I'm not gonna get into a debate about USA politics because I don't know enough about the subject.

m'yeah?

Posted by iammesol on Jan-09-2007 22:57:

lol... dude I never try to debate anything here simply because I don't really speak well. I just try to spread information and perhaps put in some input every once in a while. I'm sorry I'm not an EDM encyclopedia and you can easily just skip my posts if you want.

that's all well and good, but you should familiarize yourself with more of this music. It's only going to help you in the long run. In my opinion (this seems to be consistent with a lot others), if you are passionate about something (house/dance/etc music) you should become as in this particular case "listened" as possible. If I wanted to be a historian I'd say read/study as much as possible. Do you see what I'm saying?

Yeah man, and I see that you're tryin' to help me, which is great. I just ask for you to please calm down first next time you wish to enlighten me

Don't read too deeply into any emotion in my posts. I argue with everyone like this. It's never personal when I'm debating/discussing music.

Posted by iammesol on Jan-09-2007 23:17:

I'll keep that in mind.

Thanks for caring about my knowledge's well-being i guess.

People claim to be passionate about this music a lot, but the reality it they don't take the time to really get to know this genre. It's apparent in all sorts of thread in the MD (ie most of the Tyas threads). I think my history analogy really shows how I feel about this music. If you want to be a serious part of it, you need to seriously commit to it and learn it. If you are just a casual listener, that's fine, I'm a casual historian. I know a little bit, read a couple books, a couple classes, but nothing serious nor do I aspire to be a historian. I know you want to DJ/produce and learning more about this music is in my opinion a vital part of self improvement as an artist. It's the same in every field.

swedish pop pwns all.

Posted by |Thrax| on Jan-10-2007 01:32:

I like the Swedish house influences and overall sound better.

Although you cannot deny that The French invented or damn near perfected/popularized "sidechaining" or French "pumping house".

Not to say that either/or is better but the French have been at it longer.
