*i'm sorry for not typing in English*

Posted by Pjotr G on May-15-2002 08:46:

*I'm sorry too for not typing in english*

*grinz*

*Still sorry for not typing English*

Posted by Pjotr G on May-15-2002 10:27:

*sorry, probably (one of the) last post(s) not in english*

I'll post pics of my studio tomorrow.. (their just getting developed now). It may be small, but its good enough for now

Posted by Pjotr G on May-16-2002 08:05:

dammit I want pics of my own setup too....

Posted by MERiDiAN5i2 on May-16-2002 17:36:

holy farking sheit. good lord that must be over a million $ in equiptment!

Posted by JP8000Lover on May-18-2002 11:21:

Shame / Disagreement overloaded???

That is a LOT of gear. You should sell it on ebay
and get some money back. A good producer doesn't need
much gear. That room must be hotter than a desert with
all those goodies hooked up. I'd hate to be paying the
electric bill!!

Cheers!

Hm... I heard BT's studio got robbed when he was away on tour, had to replace everything - that's why on his new album it sounds different... even PC's were taken - he had to start from scratch...

Though I like his setup much better - it's not as cluttered as some of the studios I saw. I know it first hand, when you start to accumulate gear, the job actually gets harder, because you're dealing with various "hardware platforms" and oftentimes, it's virtually impossible to remember how to controll all this gear and even more so, troubleshooting humming or noise or signal routing is a friggin nightmare! I have "only" 7 hardware synths and wiring alone took me about 2 days! Can't imagine what a nightmare this is!

It definately looks nice, I love the hardwood!

I dont know how good it would actually be though, in terms of accessibility. The midi controller is way over to the right.. I always use mine right when I'm at my computer. And the synths are very low, and would probably be awkward to use. I like the computer setup though, and the overall design of the room.

Some really nice photos of workshops you've posted here! But I don't see much photos of real studios with acousted control room, vocal booth (mandatory for a studio), possible room for recording a whole band or small orchestra, separate office etc. The only studios here I know being such studios are ATB's and AvB's, they've got it all really nicely put up and they've got the recording booth along the control room as well

I do envy a bit of the amount the Cygnetic guys have but they haven't probably ever heard of acousting, the room must sound horrible that way with all the reflections bouncing from the ceilings/gear. And how do they move inside that room? Nice pile of gear anyways, respect for that to those gear'o'holics!

Anyways, here are some photos of our small workshop / project studio (no vocal booth and no office etc). It's pretty tight and sort of cheap in terms of acousting and amount of gear, but it does the job, and we like keeping things in place to make it look and especially feel good too. What do you like of my production sneakers btw?

The upsides of our place is that it's separate from apartments/houses (nice feature when playing loud at 2:00am) and the working area is relatively small, so everything is almost reachable by hand but there is still enough space to move around. The downsides are that we can't fit more guys in front of desks so it's only for one at a time, and also some of the gear placements are not flexible for using (like the Kurzweil K2000r in the rack on the right side). Our air ventilation isn't good either but we're working on it, hoping to get it remote controlled just like the lights are (nice effect when you dim the lights out with a remote and start watching music videos or movies on the TV monitor ;D). I'd also love to have some vocal booth for recording vocals and instruments but there's no space for that, the room is 5m x 3m. There's also a separate small 1m x 3m room between the door outside and the control room, it's nice for storing some useless stuff (like bottles etc ).Only the front half of the room has been acousted with the acousting foam and the the back wall partially, so the room ain't totally damped to death.
The photos are missing our latest synth Roland JP8000 and we're getting another Yamaha AN1x along E-Mu E-Synth (or something, some huge full weight keyboard/sample/synth) soon. More information like the gearlist and photos/instructions/specs of building the studio etc. are available at address
