its best

anyway, ive listened to that Fatboty slim set, big boutique it was called i think. its a great set. but, Fatboy Slim sucks on mixing techniques. but then again, his track selection is good. kinda the same as felix da housecat.

as for tiesto; tiesto does the same, but his mixing techniques are better. and his sound is more specific then fatboy slim, so i think tiesto is better, cuzhe doesnt have to pull off well known/recognizable (top 40) tracks to please every1. he can do it with the newest and sometimes most unknown tracks, or brilliant unreleased remixes on known tracks (e.g. 'Crosses')

the track tiesto plays during his set, the track that starts when he drives to the beach, is called; Jose Gonzalez - Crosses (Tisto Remix)
nice remix

Behold, my arse. Nice Remix?

You mean the original track added by a hi-at and a bassdrum,...that's why it is such a great mix

Not the man in person, he can't do shit about it, just the hype around it, it's annoying me since some time, maybe you will agree,...it is a sell out, as long as it will standing

Performances by the man are okay, but don't tell me that he is such a good remixer, or producer, there are lots and lots more talented producers who didn't get a change, a few, a very happy few

No I don't have any frustrations

I don't give a shit about Tiesto, I was talking about his linguistic 'correction'.

Either the promoters had 150,000 extra tickets on hand just in case, or it was free. If anything, he's probably started charging again to cut down on that kind of thing, because I hear the Brighton council weren't too chuffed with what happened to their beach afterwards.

His most recent one last year was free again, but punters had to prove that they lived in Brighton, as he threw the party for Brighton due to his love for the city

You mean it's best. You don't have to correct my English, thanks. I made the mistake deliberately, for effect.

Hard luck on Skitt's Law, by the way.

I bet that "Crosses" remix will appear on ISOS6. What a relaxing summer tune that is!

u guys have seem to have a lot fun. gather around for a cup of tea, might be good for u
but seriously, im just giving my opinion, trying not to be negative to any1. and im not willing to start a discussion here whether or not tiesto is good or not, as DJ and/or producer. numerous threads and flames have been conducted in that 'experiment', and no matter how good one can try to give his opinion, its never good, even its neutral.

btw, its rather funny again to see 3 gusy being mad at me. wonder what i did wrong

*/searching wikipedia for Skitt's Law*

is that all?

I dunno why Superbass's remix of 'Crosses' hasnt been mentioned...Tiesto's remix is basically a carbon copy of it.

Despite the fact that I do think Tiesto is a publicity whore and I know that this beach gig was ultimately done to raise his profile yet again, I just think that why shouldnt he have done it? If any other DJs had the chance to play in front of 200,000 on a beach in Rio, how many of them would turn it down?

Fair enough, it was a free gig on the beach but I dont believe that there are many other DJs who would have pulled such a crowd. Like him or hate him, everyone has to face the fact that he has a HUGE following...a following that the majority of DJs around the world would love to have.

Someone made the point earlier that Norman Cook attracted 300,000 people for a similar event by playing his usual mixture of styles that would appeal to more people than if he played only EDM and I think this is a great point. We have to remember that Tiesto played only EDM, even if it did include his intolerable remix of Adagio. Norman Cook was also playing in England, where more people would naturally turn up to support one of their own.

Personally, I love Tiesto's In Search Of Sunrise series and I would definitely pay money to see him every time if he kept to the progressive & uplifting trance style he plays on these albums but he doesnt. I have seen him a couple of times and Im not a big fan of his live sets at all. But who can argue? He probably has the biggest following a that any DJ has ever had, so whether it is through sheer marketing expertise or the fact that so many people actually do adore the music he plays, all I can say is fair play to him - he is getting the chance to do things that most will ever only get to dream about.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Jan-28-2007 14:34:

No no- Norman Cook has done huge beach parties in Brazil before too. The Brighton Beach 2002 one set the benchmark, but he went over to Brazil and did this years before Tiesto.
