You know what's great? This law will never pass because the government isn't allowed to tell parents how to raise kids. There's child abuse, and there's spanking. Spanking != abuse.
Right, there are already laws in place to prevent abusive spanking. This law wouldn't stop abuse.
Irresponsible parents should be fucking spanked, not responsible parents who use a quick whack on the ass to teach a child right from wrong when alternatives aren't working.

i think the law is sound. kids that young don't really know right from wrong and it would be a dumbass idea to punish them for anything. i could even go up to 6 yrs old.
7 and up tho, beat that ass! that's old enough to know not to do certain shit.

The Kuleszas said they told a flight attendant they had paid for their daughter's seat, but asked whether she could sit in her mother's lap. The request was denied. She was removed because "she was climbing under the seat and hitting the parents and wouldn't get in her seat" during boarding, Graham-Weaver said. The Orlando-based carrier reimbursed the family $595.80, the cost of the three tickets, and the Kuleszas flew home the next day. They also were offered three roundtrip tickets anywhere the airline flies, Graham-Weaver said. The father said his family would never fly AirTran again. |
There's spanking, and then there's beating. It's just a matter of where to put the line of illegality. Surely breaking your child's bones should be illegal?
