I don't have a problem with the senior members. If I did I wouldn't post here. Even though many of them probably cherish their status a little too much, on average it's a better crowd than most forums have.

I'll just add they wouldn't be any good to me if I couldn't prod them a little, so consider yourselves prodded old farts.

I rarely snap at anyone, provided that theyre just here for some fun, info and a bit of a chat about music or whatever. Like anyone else though if you insist on stirring to the point someone else with the time and inclination, just for the hell of it, then yes expect to be poked back with just as much vigour.

Observations are just that, looking, making threads like this for your own entertainment though is more or less just asking to be kicked, add to that you consider the older members 'prodded' so to speak and if you prod someone enough and they turn around and unleash on you with something vicous or hatefull...
You dont find it very entertaining then youve more or less just decided to stick something sensitive in a door jam and slammed the door, for entertainment purposes and found that the experience wasnt entertaining and usually painfull.

Its the internet... no one cares! Which is both all the amusement you'll ever need and at the same time all thats bloody wrong with it.

honestly here (the cor) its more of a running joke to bash noobs than anything, we'll bash anyone who's asking for it (see: googooly, he's been here quite some time but it didn't let up when he stopped being a noob)

while you find irony in mr. mystery's post, i find even greater irony in the tone of your latest post: while you're trying to accuse other people of arrogance and elitism, the entire thing reads that you think all these people who you haven't really identified are worse than you, and you're better because you're not doing it.

again...this is a community, treat it as such. imagine the high school lunch table circuit. if all of a sudden you just sit down at a table with a bunch of kids, you're probably not going to 'fit in' right away. you may get along with them, you may not, but nonetheless they have their customs and inside jokes which you're probably not aware of. so within this table/community, its look on as weird to do things against said customs, and annoying to have to explain where their jokes are coming from. you may think they're not funny, or their customs aren't right.

Everyone's main motivation is selfish whether they're creating a thread or anything else. My secondary goal in making this thread is to entertain and engage other TA's in a positive way, even if that means opening myself up to criticism.
