this place is phenomenal. the water is cold. really cold. but its for those whole like rock jumping and scuba diving. it has several shipwrecks, as well as many natural grottoes. There is also a cave that u can jump off rocks into the cave bottom which is lit from below thru an underwater tunnel that leads out into the bay. |
I go Scuba Diving at Fathom Five... that grotto is awesome to surface in. Crazy ass people doing backflips off 60 foot cliffs too... one kid actually snapped his spine there one year hitting the water!

Awesome pics!
If you guys ever want to slam some drinks at a beach club in the sun, Sunset Bay (just south of Mickey Rats on Lake Erie) freakin rocks on Sundays in the summer.
It's about 35 minutes past the Walden Galleria exit on the I-90W (Silver Creek exit)

ON has no beaches.
For beaches please travel to a city by the ocean. Thankyou.

beach - an expanse of sand or pebbles along a shore.

its about 3 hours from toronto. theres cyprus lake on the lake huron side of the penisula that has beachs (very very shallow. great for kids!) and amazing hiking and rockjumping on the georgian bay side. again, the water is FRIGID (aka don't overcrowd my park)

and Killbear (still my favourite place in Ontario)
these are NOT my pictures

killbear has the best cliff-diving i've come across. some are definitely not for the weak of heart (coughmecough)

About 1.5 hours from Collingwood where I live. Just north of Owen Sound.

We used to go there camping EVERY fucking summer!! The Grotto is wicked, but you'd never catch me trying to scuba dive in it
Some pics I have already uploaded from an 02 trip we took there in Aug of that year! Water was STILL freezing, yup.
Ive only been once in my life when I didnt mind the water's temperature and it was actually fairly WARM, if you can believe it.

and have to throw in this one for good measure!
!!

(its all about walkign the national park trails at the camp site there in the morning and hiding the beers in a towel as you drink them!!

the highest one is Suicide. You have about a 10 foot run to clear about 12 feet of rocks and shit on the way down. the most dangerous is called Insanity. Its about 5 feet lower and you only jump out about 6-8 feet, but you have no running room. i once saw a girl skin her shins the whole way down from Suicide, blood everywhere. And the same summer a guy attempted to dive off of Suicide, but did a belly flop instead. Crushed his ribs, internal bleeding etc etc. Lived though.
ps. its spitty

holy fuck. that's...well...insane. do you know what area it was in? the only section i remember is Lighthouse which has some nice little secluded beaches if you feel like canoeing around to find them.

Who has been to a place called Whites Falls??
Its in coldwater, ontario... right beside Six Mile Lake provincial park...
its a great little place that has both a brigde (4m or so) to jump and a water fall to climb and swim at.. there is no sand but rocks, still tho its a great place.
Looks bad here, but its much nicer in life and its a fun place to spend the afternoon.

its harolds point. georgian, beaver dam and harolds point are by far the best. lighthouse and blind bay don't have beaches and rock jumping both in walking distance. but those sites are so hard to get.

I once randomly saw TAs arek and Ziggy on the jumping rocks at Kill Bear. TA's network network is vast. You meet them randomly even in the middle of nowhere.

if i can't get a site there is a side road about 10 mins past the icecream place on the corner of the last main road that brings you to a launch site where it's a 30min canoe/kayak ride to a bunch of islands. now THAT'S camping...
