You have two options:

1. I can fly to LA and make you some Hummus.

2. I can give you my recipe for BOMB hummus - you need a food processor though.

Well I don't have a food processor, you best start looking for tickets. Bobby's coming at the end of march

Example chicken.

If you go to the supermarket you can get one of those big bags of frozen chicken or you can get the smaller individually wrapped fresh chicken. The fresh chicken at the market is obviously better than the frozen, and sometimes the frozen isn't that much more expensive. Only problem with the supermarket is that their frozen chicken tastes like ass. It's stringy, not very tasty, and the pieces are generally pretty small. However, at TJ's their frozen chicken is bomb.com...you don't get as many pieces but it tastes a whole lot better and is probably better for you. The let down? It costs about $2 more than at the supermarket.

TJ also has a phenomenal cheese section! All kind of Spanish and French cheese and lots and LOTS of wine. TJ for president.

well at the one in irvine and the one here in costa mesa its pretty much the same price.

it'd be really really really amazingly awesome if we could afford to visit LA and Seattle this summer... but considering i'm moving at the end of August, i'm not sure if it'd be possible.

Posted by idoru on Feb-08-2007 17:40:

i've got family in Seattle and RJT and i are thinking about moving there eventually... i think that's reason enough!

plus i'm still waiting to find out if we're having a family reunion in Seattle this year.

Posted by jdat on Feb-08-2007 18:22:

my staple Trader Joe's meal:

Vegetarian turkey meatballs
Couple tomatos and onions cooked separately mixed into Indian curry ( to stretch the sauce ... it's so freaking expensive like 2 bucks for a small jar )
Basmati Rice ( I think it's organic and I miss it so much ... haven't found anything comparable )

one time my father visited me for 2 weeks when I was still in the US and I fed him pretty much 100% Trader Joe's vegetarian stuff the whole time we had meals together and he liked it all.
I don't know if during the day when I was at work he would go to McD's for a burger cause he wanted some real meat

ever since trader joe's I make all my meals without premade sauce and it is so freaking easy and 10 times more delish.
Take veggies throw in pan, add spices and you're set

Posted by gehzumteufel on Feb-08-2007 23:33:

i would NEVER go vege but trader joes has some DANK ass vegetarian stuff.
