forget about any 600 sportsbike...
Just picture that scene in the matrix.. your the one Neo, ladi da n all that shit.. when Morpheous asks Neo to jump across to the other building.. which he fails. "everyone falls the first time"
don't be naive & think your special & that it won't happen to you, you may turn out good in time, but everyone has to start from the bottom.
GET A 2-Fiddy cc. It will keep you more than happy till you gain experience. 250's are still quicker than at least 80% of cars on the road... they just don't have the top end speed.. mine still cracks 200kph no worries though.. but the average 600 will do that in 3rd gear (maybe 2nd :P)

Well i've been reading all these replies and i agree with some and disagree with others. Yes a SV or an EX500 is more forgiving but in my experience its the rider not the bike. If you ride like an idiot you'll eat pavement whether it's on a liter bike or a Ninja 250. I started out on a 600cc as did all my friends and the only accident i've ever had was lowsiding at 10mph because i got caught in the rain and hit the rear brake a little too much and locked the rear tire. Of all the accidents i've heard it's always because the rider was doing something stupid, running a red light, excessive speed. Yes a 600cc will get you going a lot quicker but in fairness its only about a 20-25ish hp difference than a SV. After you get your license if you know anyone with a 600cc ask to borrow there's and see how you feel on it.

Also, you're saying 20-25 hp isn't a big difference. It's not when you're in a car, but when you're literally sitting on an extra 20 horse power you can definitely feel that. I don't ride a bike and I can tell you that.

| Originally posted by rktyr I realize the SV is a standard while the 600cc is a actual sportbike and what goes along with that classification. You can wreck just as easily on both. Like i said i think it's more about the rider than the bike. If you can honestly say that you'll take it slow in the beginning and respect the power of the 600 then go for it. Wear your gear and have fun. |

Also this guy weighs 140 pounds, with an extra 25 hp I'm pretty sure the bike will flip out from under him as soon as he opens the throttle.

let's all get bikes and be in the TA Biker Gang... ride around LA and kick n00bs asses.
I prefer that everyone buy VW's and we drive around LA looking bad ass with our unpimped autos and beating the crap out of rice-rockets

I realize that 20hp is definately a difference. I felt it when i rode my buddies SV. |
I can tell i'm fighting an uphill battle with the rest of you guys on here so i'll just say after you get your m-class go with what you can afford and respect the power of the bike and you'll have a great time.
