Oh yeah - for sure. As per my other posts re: it, the only problem so far is that it's too short.

And kind of an odd one - when I play games, I really like to invert the Y axis on the camera stick (which you can do), but this is also one of the sticks you have to use to throw objects around, and for some damn reason when I do that I don't want the axis inverted. It just doesn't feel as natural, but you only get to choose it for the whole game, not for camera vs. force specific.

I'm sure I'll get used to it once I have the full game, just kind of an odd issue I'm personally having.

Posted by CONNERMAN2000 on Aug-27-2008 23:40:

I always play invert. A lot of people question this by asking "WHY WOULD YOU WANT THE GUY TO LOOK UP WHEN YOU PRESS DOWN."

I can't explain why it feels more comfortable. It just does. Somebody explain to me why that is.

Posted by Moongoose on Aug-28-2008 00:14:

I can only stand that in flight sims. Otherwise i just cant play inverse. Feels natural in a flight sim, everywhere else, im completely lost.

Because you're a devil-child.

In an airplane related scenario, inversion makes complete sense. As you pull back, you lean back, looking up. Push forward, you look down, going down. But for some reason, my brain works the exact same way when controlling an FPS.

Its like rocking the camera back to look up, er, maybe this way make more sense - you lean the camera back on its axis resulting in the lense facing upward.

Or for a FPS it is like you are leaning your head back so you can look up.

Thats how I play and how it feels to me.

Posted by ChrstnMchl on Aug-29-2008 19:20:

Also, so it is a QTE to beat the AT-ST? No wonder I have been able to do anything to him...

That's a good way of thinking about it. I guess to me, every game is like flying an airplane.

Realized that earlier today. Hooray for next week!

Just FYI for anyone who doesn't know, Game Stop is doing a midnight launch for this tomorrow evening

I hope it sucks so I can read entertaining cynical reviews and laugh at everyone whose dreams were crushed.

If the demo is any indication, it won't - though I'm betting on it being short, and that being my biggest complaint.

I can almost guarantee an average print score of between 6.5 and 7.5, but I think fans of the series will rate it a bit higher.

Won't reinvent the wheel, but will be a much needed breath of fresh air into Star Wars games (which are notoriously terrible, regardless of the handful of exceptions).

7.5 on gamespot
great story, some fantastic gameplay but too many crap bits in between
quite a few graphics issues on ps3 version
no wonder they decided against a pc version, they cant even code the console ones properly

From Wired.com:

Review: Force Unleashed's Lack of Fun Disturbing

Who knew that throwing Stormtroopers around like they were rag dolls could be so... boring?

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a new Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 video game in stores this week, is the first Star Wars game that truly lets you go on a rampage using the dark side of the Force. You'll get to levitate TIE Fighters, cast that super-cool finger lightning that the Emperor uses, and generally wreak massive destruction all over the galaxy. Unfortunately, the novelty of having midichlorians wears off after an hour or so, and what you're left with is an unpolished and flat experience that doesn't hold a lightsaber to genre standards like God of War...

And?

The bulk of us are capable of tracking down and reading reviews.

Most also know better than to base our own opinion of a game on anything other than our own experience with it.

GT.com 6.9
Gamespot 7.5
IGN 7.3

Much foresight you have, hrmm? Strong with the force, this one is.

Posted by RJT on Sep-15-2008 16:13:

Game reviewers are so fucking predictable it hurts.

For most games, unless it's aggregate score is a 6 or lower based on ten or more reviews, I'll probably give them a shot. Sometimes I agree, but all too often a game that critics have deemed "mediocre" winds up being ace, and I'd be pissed if I missed out on it just because GameSpot told me not to play it.

Posted by Project-K on Sep-15-2008 16:25:

Yeah and imagine how much money you'd be throwing away if you played everything gamespot did tell you to play.

Since, I have not played the game, I thought I would throw a contradictory view in.

Contradictory to what?

Me enjoying playing the demo?

Because the only thoughts on actual reviews offered thus far was:

Regardless, 12 hours to go here... w00t.
