didn't work out too badly for the Dolphins, after all. Drafting Ginn there was still a bit bizarre, but at least they wound up with one of the 4 top QBs.
also Dolphins new coach can't be ballsy and trade off picks for next years draft like the Browns coach.
it really sucks though.
i think Quinn deserved better.. but there is nothing you can do. I really felt bad for the guy. I mean really bad.
haha the girly side is too strong for something like the Draft.
lol. i am kinda 50/50 on the robert meachem pick in the first round. the last time the saints picked a wide receiver in the 1st round, it was donte stallworth, and we all know what happened to him. i call him butterfingers, because he always dropped balls in critical situations. glad we got rid of him.
the TA sports guys had a very funny msn chat session during the draft, laughing at everyone, from the detroit lions pick to miami's pick to the camera pointing to brady quinn after every pick to calling brady gay, and our change of feelings for lindy slinger(brady's gf) from calling her a plastic surgery whore to hot stuff in less than 30 minutes. it was funny, and then we were making fun of each other. classic stuff.

| Report: Raiders Agree to Trade Randy Moss to Patriots Posted Apr 29th 2007 10:37AM by Michael David Smith Filed under: Patriots, Raiders, Breaking News Adam Schefter is reporting at NFL.com that the Raiders and Patriots have agreed to a trade that will send Randy Moss to New England. Moss is in New England right now taking a physical with the Patriots' team doctors, and if he passes the physical, the Patriots will ship a fourth-round pick in today's draft to Oakland in exchange for Moss. If Moss is on his best behavior, this gives New England the highest-profile move of what has already been an outstanding off-season. Schefter is reporting that Moss has promised the team he won't be a distraction and that he's excited about playing for a contender. Moss already has agreed to dramatically restructure his contract, which is scheduled to pay him $9.75 million this coming season. New England was the one and only place Moss would agree to take a reduced contract, and he did so knowing that he would have the chance to win a Super Bowl. With the offseason that New England has had, no team in football has a better chance. Schefter reports that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was actively lobbying for the trade. |
and that is why the patriots continue to win and the Jets and fish constantly chase...congrats Lance
Oh yes! The best weapon is now in Brady's arsenal!! WOO!!!

King Ecnal...congrats on having the best front office in ALLLLL of sports, I cant believe you got one of the best wide recievers for a 4th round draft pick, unbelievable! I hate New England teams with a passion, but DAMN, enjoy taking the AFC this year...hawks will meet you there!!

not if we have a HEALTHY team
Definitely could see a Hawks v Boys matchup in NFC Championship game, we'll see how you guys do with the new coach and TO, and a full season of ROMO and TO
Some really dumb trades thus far, including the Moss one. I'm just scared to death that at any second, I'm gonna see Lance Briggs go to the Colts for a 7th round pick or something.
hahaha lol...what is the deal with Lance Briggs right now? Getting traded, not traded...Bears going try keep him happy in Chicago with Urlacher stealing all his glory? What an idiot, play your damn position and try to win a Super Bowl, you were one fuckin game from winning the SUPER BOWL, what makes you want to leave that team?

my take on the past couple of weeks with the new england patriots....
as we all know, the pats have been very busy in the offseason. they signed adalius thomas(baltimore), donte stallworth(philly), wesley welker(miami), troy james(cincinnati) and randy moss(oakland). this is the most aggresive i've seen the pats be in a very long time.
after their loss to indy in the conf finals, i think billy bel took a hard look at his roster, and knew the pats needed some help. last year, they took a heavy blow by losing deion branch early in the season and richard seymour to free agency. billy bel also knew that last year, their "biggest" free agency signing was reche caldwell, and we all know what happened after that. they drafted well by signing lawrence maroney, who i think will be a good successor to corey dillon. billy bel and rob kraft knew they needed to beef up their team a bit, after seeing the jets surge last year, the bills looking decent, and the dolphins looking semi-positive in their rebuilding phase. so they had to be aggessive.
thomas is a great pickup for them, and in my opinion they should put a franchise tag on him, because he is a top notch linebacker. i am iffy on donte stallworth and randy moss. 2 great receivers, yet we all know in the past their problems. donte not coming through in the clutch in the 4th quarter. moss and his problems internally and externally. but if we look past these problems, these are 2 deep threats brady will love to throw to. brady loves the long ball (no gay reference here.
). as for welker, this is a good pickup. all great teams have 1 guy in special teams that can make a difference in the special teams. welker is the man to fill that role. pats had tim dwight last year, and he was a bomb. let's hope welker isn't.
we are going to see a very different patriots team next year. maroney is going to be behind brady, instead of dillon. stallworth and moss are going to be at opposite ends, rather than jackson/gaffney/caldwell. barring they can settle the asante samuel problems, their defense will look a little beefier with thomas in the outside. they now can use troy james/randall gay, samuel, and hobbs for 3 wr sets becoming more popular(ala colts). i am afraid to say the pats are back in town.

You know, as weird as the Brady going 22 bit was, what's even more weird is that's who he claims he wanted to play for. He's from Dublin, Ohio and has been a Browns fan since he was a little kid, so now he'll have the home crowd literally every home game. Whether or not that's true is another story, but it's not a bad fit for him.
I was starting to wonder if there is any sort of method to Bill Polians madness, and then I realized he's done a damn fine job the last 10 years. First year, he boots Jim Harbaugh knowing he can draft Ryan Leaf or Peyton then takes Peyton missing out on the ticking time bomb that was Leaf. Then you have Ricky Williams or Edge, and he takes Edge once again missing out on a huge problem. Then we need defense bad, really bad, like three seasons ago bad and he picks Rob Morris which turned out okay, but not great. We still need defense, but this time he gets Reggie Wayne....WTF Bill? Turns out Reggie ends up being one of the best receivers in the league playing opposite to arguably the best receiver in the league.
But Gonzales first round? WTF Bill? Then I remember he did the same thing with Clark and let Edge go for Addai. He's keeping Peyton happy at the cost of a killer defense, but that's how the Colts play now. It's all Offense all the time which is also part of our defense cause it keeps our real D on the bench as long as possible and keeps us out of the trouble caused when they take the field against any team that can move the ball. He did pick four defensive players in a row after the first two rounds though. They are honestly making an attempt at building a defense, Polian is just hoping this picking guys late round stuff keeps working out like Bethea and Mathis did.
