I can't believe I've had this mix all week and still haven't listened to it.

listening to it now though, the track at 15 minutes is probably one of my favourite tracks of the whole set.

Graham says:
holy fuck. i'm literally laughing right now at how good this is.

That was the exact track I started laughing. It's at that track where you realize how epic this mix is going to be.

I'm so glad that I caught Howells at This is London in the fall when he finally impressed me. I've seen him about 4 or 5 times, and he's only impressed me once. However, I have other sets like this that show me what a good DJ he is. Fucking classic. This is going to be in heavy rotation for a while.

+1 to Howells at Footwork!

Finally tuned in and 16 minutes in i could feel it inside that this set its going in right direction. Lately Danny Howells has been off imo. Im basing this on his live performances at TiL. The last time he was here I arrived at 2.30-3am and the music became aggressively tougher (techno). Not really what I was hoping for. I know Danny is known to intensify his set as the hour passes and maybe he played a lot harder because he didnt have the must needed 8-10 sets hes used to having but having said that, I've been disappointed but those feelings have completely diminished after i clicked play on my media player. This is the Danny Howells i fell in love with. Music that holds intelligence, substance, feeling & emotion. Paying attention to the fine detail in his programming is a completely different story and can be discussed in another thread all together.

So far this is easily the best mix ive heard all year and quite possibly all of last year. Its great to hear danny back in full force.

10/10 (after 40 minutes in)

***HOLY FUCK THE BASSLINE THAT COMES IN AT 41:54 .....SIIIIIIIIIICK. WHAT A FUCKIN MIX***

You guys are making it sound TOO good. I am waiting to listen to it as a whole... dont wanna spoil the flow by listening to it in intervals..

Hopfully by sunday ill be able to sit down and space out for 2 hours.

Two hours to enjoy, another 2 to soak it all in and just say, 'wow'.

I think TIL or Sonic should have a night where they just slap this EM in the player and let er run...maybe even let Jon Jon get in the booth and let him pretend he is mixing it live...

Posted by English Rachel on Feb-23-2007 18:49:

What am I missing in here?

Downloading now, better be good, I will be in trouble if I get caught!

It really sounds like nothing else out there. Danny is #1 for me for a while now, and this set just confirms it

this is fucking fantastic. My tastes have really evolved into this type of progressive housey and slightly moody music that still retains elements of trance. Very good stuff. I have most of Howells' stuff but this mix is one of the best I"ve heard in a long time. Armin's Christmas Eve 2006 E Mix was fantastic too though, I have to say...as far as the newer trance sound goes anyway.

Posted by Endlesswave on Feb-24-2007 11:49:

Newer trance sound? Man...speechless, I love it.

you know what I mean. Trance is very different now than when I started listening to this type of music 7 years ago. It doesn't impress me as much as it once did, but Armin's essential mix from Christmas Eve was one of few recent efforts by so called "trance" dj's that actually reminded me why I love good trance in the first place.

Does that explain it better?
