i like it very much, can't find anything i don't like about it. Mixing seems spot on (maybe i missed something i've listened to it twice without paying much attention) tunes are really great. Don't expect a larger review from me.

Thanks man - I definitely think it's an interesting sound Myra and I are able to push together.

This is another fantastic mix. It was a pleasure to listen to as I slaved away in the studio making diagrams of subculture last night

Let me be the first to say I didn't really like it.. Sure, the mixing was spot on and I believe you two put quite a bit of work in the track selection (however gay using ID-ID's may be), but none of the tracks really did anything for me. It just didn't seem to go anywhere for me.. The flow was definitely there, but if the tracks just don't appeal, flow isn't gonna save it.

Too bad, because I usually enjoy listening to Rob's mixes (can't say I've heard too much of Myra's antics yet).. Better luck (for me) next time I hope..

This doesn't really suprise me - as from your posts on here I think you're musical tastes probably lean a bit more to the techy/glitchy side of things than the melodic house side, which is probably more the direction that we head live. As you said, if the tracks don't appeal - flow isn't going to save a thing - and this isn't the first time I've had a comment like this on one of my mixes.

Thank you, as always, for the listen and your thoughts. Myra and I both appreciate them tremendously!

Ok, I've been listening to this mix for 7 hours on repeat. I absolutely NEEEEED the last ID.

Posted by Protege on Feb-22-2007 22:23:

I finally got around to listening to the mix and I liked it alot, really kinda chilled until the last track, which is massive. A few of the mixes I wasnt too keen on (ie. the mix into Rivers iirc) but other than that its very solid.

Id like to hear a mix that would be a continuation of this one to see what you guys would do with all the energy you built up.

Thanks for the listen and the thoughts guys - I'm sure we'll get around to doing another one in a few months

i think we should consider doing a deep chilled out mix. i think it could be very spicy.

thanks for all the listens and comments, guys! it means a lot to us

So I finally listened to the mix, and I have to say, it's top notch. It combines well the elements that I liked best from each of your individual sets. The first track is a class production, and sets the tone well. The last track is ace as well, which provide perfect bookends. One of the more enjoyable sets through and through that I've listened to for awhile! Would love to see you guys spin live.

WOW! good work! Where is the vocal sample from the last track from? I know I've heard it before

glad to hear you enjoyed the mix... and we'd love it if you made the trek to Wisco someday!

it's too bad we couldn't give you more notice about our show tomorrow night. we've got TAs coming up from Ohio and Indiana, as well as a few Wisco TAs. pawty time!

I like this mix for the most part but I reaaally wasn't diggin' the Weird Science remix.

Will give a lengthier review later.

so how did this work....like one picked a track...then the other had to mix in the next one...back and forth back and forth? or was it a few tracks in a row...half/half...etc? i'm curious to know.

whoever picked the first track is cool in my books

Posted by Sushipunk on Feb-24-2007 06:57:

Finally getting a chance to listen to this! Sounding good guys, just chillin on my back deck with a beer and your tunes

Posted by ZeJayMan on Feb-24-2007 18:54:

Awesome finishing song. Could listen to that transition all day long.

RJT just to let you know I remixed one of Boratto's songs with an old classic non EDM song, bit of fun for a mashup, I've got a rough version here if you'd like to have a listen.

Peace. J.

After further review, I have come to the following conclusion. I liked the mix, but it doesn't really get going until near the end. I feel it would have worked better as a 2 hour mix, this being the first hour. Having it end after those last 2 tracks is a shame.

PS: I love the last 2 tracks.
edit: and the track @ 40 min

picking the first track was definitely a joint effort. both of us are pretty picky about opening/closing tracks so we wanted to make sure we chose ones that were absolutely appropriate...

that sounds delightful. i wish it was warm enough here to chill on a deck with beer and tunes.

i think both Rob and i would have liked to do a longer mix, but we wanted to keep it under 80 minutes so that we'd be able to fit it on an audio CD. maybe for our next mix we'll try to do something longer... or do a Swank Part II?

thanks for the listens and comments!

I look forward to your future collaborations

The intro and outro are the most important parts of a set imo, and you two are always ace at picking them. I listened to this again this weekend in DC and I still think you're better in collaboration than apart! I'll have to start checking the MWTA forum before driving home from now on in case you guys are doing a show.

Cheers!
