yeah that is what I was worried about. I'm tihnking about 1 song per CD, and on that CD just have all the remixes or something...that could save me a little bit i guess. When you put 8 or so tracks on a CD though, do you ever have the problem of you wanting to mix a song from the same CD that is playing, so you can't. That is one problem I am worried about.

No real order on my vinyl.
i actually started doing the whole printing cd's thing.... but try to do it early on before you have a lot of tracks... (for me having to burn/print over 200 cd's is going to take quite some time) but the cd's i have printed so far look so nice on the eyes. also it's easier to organize as i try to somewhat classify them by genre and giving each genre it's own color, then further organizing by bpm and so on.
in the end i think it'll be worth it, but you need a LOT of patience for it
I sort my vinyl by timbre and genre in ascending order based on BPM.
my order
i burn 4 songs per CD, 1-4, then i burn them again 5-8:
1. in case CD starts skipping i can use the backup track without ejecting
2. keeps the label big to find stuff in semi-dark
3. 4 songs per CD x2 CDs = 8 songs on 2 CDs. same as burning a copy.
4. keeps me from buying crap tracks just so i can fill up a CD
5. Less waiting when i buy tracks to have them on CD [i don't buy a lot, i am very picky]
6. labeled as: track# [1-4]; Key; Artist - Title [mix]
7. i used to have 3 red dots under the name that i would fill in based on how vocal/instrumental the track was [sometimes i don't want a full vocal track played in the wrong moment]
8. and i add new CDs at the end. it's working for now as i only have a couple hundred tracks
9. i also tried to put 2 genres on one CD, this keeps from the likelyhood of wanting to play songs from same CD.
10. same goes for Keys: i try to put clashing songs on same CD for reason above.

1 release per cd (6-8 tracks on one cd at most)
Genre > Key > Title
Torq in filename mode because i rename all my songs to a certain format which i like
In terms of cds i put one song per cd.. or a song + remix only if they were in the same key and maybe close bpm range, if they're on completely diff sides of hte spectrum i split them
I have a 200 capacity storage binder from Vaultz that I keep my free tracks and purchased tracks in. I managed to fit extra pages and have more than 200 CD's in the case. It also has combo locks so that you can lock your shit up after you are done playing.
And I also carry a 24 capacity UDG CD Wallet which holds CDs containing the most recently purchased tracks. My UDG wallet fits inside the Vaultz binder too!!!
I organize my CD's in 2 categories....FREE and PURCHASED. I fit as many tracks as possible per CD and in the order that I acquired the tracks. I have the FREE cds in the front of the binder and the PURCHASED cds in the back of the binder, and all the new PURCHASED cds in the cd wallet. I usually only play recent shit anyway so it is convenient to flip through the little wallet right up there on the decks. When I need an older track or whatever, I dig through the binder and I have a pretty good memory so I know where everything is at.
I also print directly onto my CDs the full tracklistings. My epson printer kicks ass. Word.
damn that metal case looks legit. I don't know if i could keep a straight face though walking into a gig with one of those though.

im one who uses a visual trigger for my tracks, e.g vinyle sleeves, usually i burn a few tracks from the same artist, or a few tracks from the same label, or a few mixes of a individual track, i try to avoid burning single tracks to a cd but i have a got a few, im also a big fan of www.cdjshop.com, some piccies for potential ideas

fuck im having doubts about my organizing method again
since i burn 1 release per cd, and then set a color to the cd to match a genre, what if i have a track thats trance, which is remixed into breaks on the cd? what kind of color should i put then? half a color?

Hey just wondering where do you guys buy your CD's. I went to radio shack, and they are pretty expensive there. Is there a site where I can buy a bunch of blank CD's in bulk? Also once I get said CD's how did you guys make your mind on how many tracks to burn per CD? I really cant decided, because im thinking about just sorting all my songs alphabetically and then just buring them, but then once i guy new songs they are all thrown out of whack =P so gimme ideas please
