adam was more than awesome! i can see why PvD picked him for the vandit float at love parade berlin. this was my friend's Jess first time in the main room (everyone pretty much teased her about it, similar to me never going to an alibi or local love before ) and even though the crowd is different from what she's used too, she ended up staying longer than she planned.

going through all my pix/videos now but will be going out in a few to help a friend pick out new computer parts then look at dSLR again, im really tempted to get one especially with a friend willing to let me borrow the cash to get a kit

Yea it was HOT in the main room last night (or was it just me ), but even though I was becomming mad dehydrated towards the end, I still found myself dancing to Taj's set until the end . And there were still so many people dancing in the main room 'til 5:30! Good times.. until next Sat.....

Dancing Dude

It sure was an enjoyable night glad we got to catch some of Adam Sheridan's set. He was a very nice humble person.
It sure was hotter then hell in there, what is up with that, not cool literally. Anyhow didn't stop sis & I from dancing it up to Taj's badass set. That track 'Bang' gets us everytime though, damn that tracks is relentelss we love it! Had to take a 30 second break to get myself together, lol Can't wait until Love Love next weekend, it's our Bday weekend so gotta rest up this week to prepare for a long, enjoyable weekend of good music & DANCING!

Jo

Mmmmhmm we caught you red handed Blurr guilty, lol! Like your mini glow stick show you put on, sis wanted to see more though...

Adam Sheridan was pretty awesome. I can say I have new found respect for Abelton Live. I liked how he used a few samples over some of his songs. It sounded like he was bringing in Richard Durrand's remix of Lethal Industry a few times then cut it out. What a tease. He then finally brought out. Love that song to death.

I didn't stay as long as I intended because everyone else wanted to leave and I was their ride. It was great seeing all you TA's out there. It was a good night for sure!

Woot!

Hey ya'll,

First time posting here -- hope to meet some of you at a future event! Who knows -- maybe I was dancing with some of you near the DJ booth. Little did I know I've been going to Bay Area EDM events for years and had no idea there was a forum where local fans/DJs gathered. I'd go every couple of months to a top-20er at Ruby Skye or 1015 and after reading the forum for a few days and hearing John/Taj on Sat. night I think I'll be attending a lot more local events!

Phenomenal evening! After attending a Burning Man-connected all night dance celebration on Friday it was actually refreshing to be back in the saddle at a public event. The pat-down outside, the alcohol, the heat, the crowds.. ahh, nothing like home.

Here's a link to my photos:

http://minifrizzle.smugmug.com/gall...550/1/137381690

And here's a teaser shot of Taj who kindly posed for a shot (thanks, Taj):

Enjoyed everyone's sets until my turn-in-early designated driver started into the profanities at around 3.30am.. guess it was time to go. What really impressed me was the chick disconnecting all of Adam's equipment (he had a lot) while Taj was spinning. I always wonder how they manage to disconnect without pulling the wrong plug.

BTW - whoever was considering a DSLR: get one! You won't be disappointed. If only I could get mine in past security once in a while I'd have a blast.

Cheers!

John

Man I had a blast Saturday night! I drank wayyy too much that night though Adam is a chill guy, very down to earth. His set was awesome too! TAJ ripppped up the dance floor as he always does kept me going till closing.

I brought about 9 people to 1015 several of them were first-timers. They all had a blast. They absolutely loved how TAJ performed behind the decks.

Here are a few pics my camera is falling apart. I need to take a look at the settings when I have some time.

Thank you DiscoDave!!! Im glad to hear your friends & you had a good time. It was nice to see you on the dancefloor till the end!!! Great shots!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Blurr: Won't be able to make the 14th (wedding in DC), but I added the 7th to my calendar. The search for a designated driver begins.. :-)

Re Marie: Thanks for the link to the article, she sounds like an integral part of the 1015 crew! I noticed the waterfall for the first time on Sat. night.

Rizen: BTW, happy early-bday. Mine's the 30th, day before yours. :-) The only event I see on the 30th seems to be the DnB one, tho. Will prolly get a room at the Marriott or Hilton both nights and party it up in the city. It was a fun walk back to the Hilton at 5am after the Love Parade after party last year..

diskodave: nice pics!

Does anyone actually "donate" to the, uh, "parking attendants" manning the streets around 1015? They're quite a hassle every time I show up and while I'm used to them at this point I'm just wondering what others' experiences have been?

I'm sending as many people as I can to this site and spreading the word about the SF EDM scene and our local DJs. It's so difficult to find people who are into EDM these days -- it seems everyone's mired in the world of hip-hop.

Speaking of which, at least 75% of the people I mention EDM to (typically the hip-hop only crowd) make some comment about substance abuse relating to the scene or its events. I spent months arguing that they're full of sh!t to no avail.. now I just tell them to STFU and move on. Anyone else been through this? It's so darn frustrating, especially when you're trying to get people to come out to events.

I recently got my hands on a mix-CD of psi-trace (psy-trance?) and it totally reminded me that all trance brings me back to my computer music days on the Commodore Amiga with MOD files in the early 90s. We had some amazing musicians in that scene (u4ia!) making music with 4 channels of 8bit/8khz samples with ProTrakker. Every time I'm near the DJ booth it always inspires me to whip out Ableton and my USB MIDI controllers at home.. until I get home and pass out. Better leave it to the professionals.

John

Im glad you'll be in attendance for my event in April though John.

Donation to the parking attendance will benifit you, I always shell out a few dollars here and there to them. "attendants" are people too.

Its always nice to hear others spreading the word about TA and the community here. Its not likely that a group of people get together. Partying together also is alot of fun since these people we talk to at the club and interact with all the time, expecially a superclub like 1015 Folsom.

Regardless of what others say about the club, EDM is a staple there, and will always be. Worldly Djs call it one of the best club experiences they have had, and I have had some of the best experiences and nights there at 1015 as a Raver and Clubber for many years. Simply put, to me it always feels like home.

About the substance abuse.. I dont see very many people abusing drugs like they used to out there, or at the club. Which is good because not everyone is standing around like uhm Blurr can you give me a lightshow nowadays... Whenever you see me give one, its probably an old raver, friend or fan of mine who I gave one too a long time ago. Or they just like how fast I am and like to watch.

Ya, I encounter conversations like that all the time, truth is.. Those who are users will still continue to come to EDM events, regardless. The association with drugs and substienece will always exist there. Everyone whos faced with the descision to use can choose not to. It all depends on the person....

I personally am suprised at how 1015 has changed. Renovations to the rooms and the hot women that show up wee in the morning are always a welcome sight. If your friends are into Hip-Hop, they can chill in the front room with illtrax.. Then convince them to come into the mainroom..

Theres an idea..

P.S. John... I live in San Jose.. I usually caravan with my crew up there, so your welcome to tag along. Dont worry I usually drive everyone back home too cause I live in the Southbay. If you need a ride lemme know!!!!

lol, I'm usually shit broke by the time I leave to go home, but if I have a dollar or 2 left at the end of the night, I'll help them out.

..When I'm just arriving is another story

PS, welcome dude, I remember seeing you take that pic of Taj

PSS siiiiiick vids as always Rizo
