We def want to meet up with some of you SDTA's

I believe I am going tonight, and I will definately be there Sunday...so if I see you guys I will come introduce myself! I'm pretty outgoing, especially when I've had a bit to drink =)

Posted by roxb0x on Mar-02-2007 23:46:

Alright, I'll be at Thrillseekers tonight doing some photography. If you come down, and see a guy in a white shirt with a big camera, don't be a stranger!

Tell me you're from TA too, sometimes people just start randomly talking to me and I just wanna make sure we're on the same page lol

I'll be heading out there around 1045, so be on the lookout! Message me on myspace if you wanna meet up and down some drinks!

Maaan i didnt check TA till now (7:20am). I did see you all night taking pictars. I was wearing all black, wearing glasses dancing up a storm near the left side of the bar. Phoenixbebe was wearing a red top with black pants. Sorry dude, we might be back at belo for diggers. So if youre there, we'll def come up and say wassup.

Anyways, over all i def like the crowd here. Def a differnt vibe than what i am used to back on thew eastcoast lol. The setup for belo was very nice and intimate. What i didnt like was the sound system. I think it wasnt tuned correctly (stereo vs.mono). Ive also noticed that not alot of ppl was dancing last night. Is belo a place that you wanna be seen b/c its a hotspot?(Not knowing who is the DJ on the decks) or is the scene here just starting to emerge?

As for JavD, Andy Moor, and Thrillseekers, all 3 can def throw down a set. I def had a great time and hopefully we will meet some of you guys on sunday.

Posted by skell on Mar-03-2007 16:32:

Andy is too funny. I was chatting with him when he got there and right away he expressed his dislike for the sound system. He obviously tried to compensate for it by kicking up the bass which got a little painful at times. Regardless he threw down a great set which was loads of fun. The dude is so damn funny.

Steve getting a ride on Andy's shoulders while they mixed. PRICELESS.

Andy also though it would be fun to not use the third CDJ deck and handed it out to us on the dancefloor. bwahahaha!

I'll get around to posting pics and videos a little later today.

It's cool.. I saw a bunch of people around the left area dancing it up.. I wish I had a place to put my camera so I could take a break and join in lol.

I haven't been much involved with the nightlife around here, I'm still trying to get a feel for it myself (moved from vegas about 1.5 yrs ago) while becoming known amongst the club staff. It was my second time there, but I think right now it's a hotspot. I'll be going next week for sure though as a partier since Armin(!) is spinning next week on the 9th <3 I'm so excited about that one!

Also, since Giant promotes events on fridays, I think it's hard for a few people to come out. I've been to Belo on Saturday when Miguel Migs was spinning and it was reaching capacity limit. But then again, I've only been to Belo twice and don't know much of the scene around here.

I don't think I'll be able to make it sunday.. I gotta work the 9-5 the next day

2) Day 2 - The San Diego Zoo / Mission Beach 65-70 degrees
<-- clicky
(Summary under main pic)

Went to the world famous San Diego zoo, where they advocate taking the tour bus over walking since its a HUGE zoo...we chose to go on foot but had to watch ourselves, as these buses tended to go at TOP speed on the roads. ahha. and we saw ANIMALS that we have never seen before or at least in environments not normally seen. It was really great.

feeding time up close and personal with giraffes; a practically extinct rhinocereos - this was kinda scary he was HUGE...

Then we headed to Mission Beach where we finally get a glimpse of how the locals live the good life in SoCAL, finally...also Drew practices using our Canon dSLR in earnest and i like some of the results hehe

the boardwalk/bike path by the beach; look where soCAL ppls can learn/practice surfing!!!! this is BY an outdoor bar...

3) Day 3 - A Spontaneous Drive to L.A. from S.D.
81 degrees in SD, but cloudy/hazy 60 degrees...in LA? bah
<-- clicky
(Summary under main pic)

Estimated two hours...this was Drews idea...his lovely godsis lives near LA. So we get in the car..and get to her place in 1 hr 15 min...we surprised her heheh. She took us to the famed Santa Monica shopping district and we did the tourist thing in LA for a day...wish we could have had more time there tho.

wow, where was this pic taken?!

i didnt have time to go there... but glad u enjoyed ur day

San Diego definitely DID NOT DISAPPOINT. i was plenty SATISFIED

next time i soo have to drive 101 between Pacific Beach and Oceanside. But is that the famed route, or is it more from LA northward?

umm...mushrooms?

that was at la jolla shores, i think the pier is called the scripps pier. that pic was taken with a good ol' disposable camera, believe it or not.

and i think you might be thinking of highway 1 which goes along the coast of cali. don't know if pacific beach to oceanside is the famed route, but it sure is a hell of a drive. personal goal: drive up highway 1 from mexico to canada

oh man...LA JOLLA (and yes i know HOW to pronounce it correctly, heh) -- route 15 or 5 exiting to CA52 going toward the COAST...i *KNEW* i should have made it a point to go there!!! i didnt have time my sister is moving there come April...and I def wanted to check it out during my trip but i didnt have time. it sounds SO niceeeee <3

hey no knocking point and shoots...i had some great SONYS and CANONS (esp sd630) which turned out quality shots.

wow good luck with that! how long would that take :wondering:

and i guess highway 1 turns into 101 during a certain pt (after LA) ...or are they two different routes? cuz i saw highway 101 on the map but not 1 shruggs

Glad you guys had a great trip. and that sunset.. Ooh yes. I said to myself "nice one for the out of town TA's" while loking at it
great pics!

101 is partly in San Diego, partly in OC. Interesting drives with beach scenery and beach town funkiness in both areas. If you're thinking of the scenic highway that goes through undeveloped coast, that's the 1 north of LA going up to Monterrey. A beautiful but long drive.

Glad to hear you had a good time and that no one shot at you on the freeway in LA (haha! That hardly ever happens anymore)

yeah we were definitely treated to such stories by our friend - she relocated to LA from NYC about 4 yrs ago (I think her neighborhood is called Antesia (sp?)) Anyway she served as our tour guide while we drove to LA las a day trip. Let's see, stories ranged from traffic horrors and the funky ways the police had of 'clearing traffic' by driving all crazy, to getting lost in the wrong neighborhoods or her not wanting to ride the Metro at night cuz they would pass thru those neighborhoods -- and then proceeding to point those out as we passed them on the highway (Crenshaw, South Central, East LA), to running into certain ppl who almost attacked her ahha

it certainly did NOT convince me to consider LA as a place to live (and in fact she wants to COME back to NYC which makes her just SLIGHTLY biased hah)

I have to say though...it was the MOST negative tour I have ever received. then again she's sarcastic and witty so it was kinda entertaining. hah.
