Hamilton did very well, but lets face it, making Massa look like an idiot, is not all that hard. We saw Massa's old persona come out this weekend. Although he did gain a lot of patience as a tester, that old, give'r attitude came out while trying to fight Hamilton.
Kudos for being aggressive, but he should have been smarter, not harder.
Mclaren cried, and Ferrari's floor boards were modified, which lead to the decrease in gap between the two teams.
I think Kimi would like nothing better than to trounce his old team, especially since Alanso is at the helm. Lets see what Kimi can do this weekend with a healthy engine.
Did anybody catch SpeedTV's pre-race interview with Flavio? How the hell did this guy score a double world championship and date super models? That chest hair must be mighty impressive.
Even McLaren had to adjust their floor mounts. Hell, Ferrari pulled the same shit last year with the mass dampers when at least half the grid (including themselves) were running some variation of the device. If it weren't for that protest, Renault would have won the championship much sooner. What goes around, comes around.
Hamilton did a good job making Massa make that mistake from behind. Massa was driving angry since he was obviously faster.
I'm surprised he couldn't catch 4th place though.
Had Kimi had all of his motor, he could have pushed Hamilton harder and ended the race in a great duel.
This weekend in Bahrain will be a good one since everyone at the front will be on a new motor.
WTF is going on, Hamilton qualified 2nd!!!!! This kid is crazy!
BTW - if anybody is interested, I am watching the race tomorrow at Scallywags, a sports bar downtown. They are showing the race at 8am.
Anybody want to come with? It will just be my room mate and is, so it would be cool to have more people.
Yeah, saw that earlier. Good result for him! Hopefully he can have another good start.
BMW is 5th and 6th as well.
Scallys!??!?! I miss that place. I used to live right around the corner on Balmoral. Great wings and beer selection

^^ I wish. I think I'm one of the relative few people that actually post their real location in the location spot.
I live in Amsterdam now, having moved here a month ago from Montreal. Lived in Montreal for a couple years, and Toronto before that
The race is on at 1:30pm here
Yay time zone advantage! no more getting up at 730am to watch the TSN broadcast bullshit.
I might hit a pub here to watch it actually. At least there I might get the ITV feed, and have it be in English instead of Dutch lol
Whoa, Hamilton is nuts. I've never seen this kind of rookie ownage in F1. I don't even think Schumi was that impressive when he started in Benetton.
Schu's rookie start was at Spa, in a shitty Jordan.
He out-qualified his very experienced team-mate (deCesaris I think) after arriving at the track on Thursday having never driven there before.
Pretty sure he put the car 7th on the grid, but retired with a gearbox failure.
But yes, this was even better than Schu, and probably close to even Senna, if not better. No rookie has been on the podium in his first 3 starts.

Go Honda ... right to the end of the grid. They're doing absolutely horrible this year, and there is no excuse for it. Honda has participated in F1 for decades. Worse yet, there is arguing going on inside the team about what is wrong with the car. They can't even get that problem settled. Now I highly respect Honda overall, but the support and hype it's F1 team gets is nowhere near what they deserve. Honda's win last year was based mainly on luck, with a combination of mechanical failures for Alonso and Schumi, and some strange weather.
Renault's problems so far is this year is exactly what I predicted would happen. Briatore's ego was sky high, and this has brought him down back to reality. I knew that the switch to Bridgestone tires would mess up Renault, and that is exactly what happened. The loss of Alonso from the team did not help either.
Also criticism at Toyota is unfounded, and Toyota sure shut up a lot of people thinking they would do bad. Toyota is the only team in over 15 years to have started from nothing in F1. BMW bought Sauber, Honda simply bought BAR, Renault bought Benetton, Mercedes partnered with McLaren. Even Williams, a team I respect, is using Toyota engines.
I hope Ferrari wins both championships this year, as the hype around Mclaren is just ridiculous right now with Hamilton and Alonso. Ferrari winning both championships will be a nice reality check for Alonso, and will kill off the hype around Hamilton. Yes, Hamilton is good, but he's not the second coming of Christ
.
Can I get a TOYOTA SUCKS?!?!?!

A good point has been brought up ... McLaren has been the top spender in F1 in the 2006 season, and it's been revealed that they are the top spender for 2007 as well. In 2006 ... one of McLaren's worst years where they didn't get a single race win.
Briatore must have been fuming that Jarno Trulli was able to pass both Renaults during the Bahrain race.
