well satellite radio is excluded. a former roomie/friend of mine had XM and i listened to that at home all the time. loved it. ID&T radio was awesome. why did it die? they had so many good sets on there.

I don't think it was making money. Merged/morphed into SlamFM, which is now a lot of 'urban' music, with some EDM mixed in. >:|

yeah sucks that they dont really have much edm relative to what id&t radio was.

Haha! Now that you say it, I think I remember that's why we left the tranceroom and went to the house room.
I remember Metropolis 2002's Main Room was the worst for hot rooms. It was the one at 3Com Park's Parking Lot and I was sitting on the edges of the giant tent, when all of a sudden *drip*. I wondered why water was coming down, and then realized it was people's sweat....

Atleast I remember DeepSky threw down one of my favorite sets of all time though... and someone in the Trance room threw down PPK's "Resurrection"... when was the last time you heard that?? I'll never forget that song, total mind fuck hearing it for the first time... I always wondered what ever happened to PPK...

haha PPK was awesome. their I Have a Dream track was fucking great. do you realize they are a product of the original mp3.com?

I was in middle school and got into La Bouche haha...I bought all the maxi single cds and liked the remixes better than the originals.

Listening to "The Beat- live from the Roxy" when Houston actually played edm on the radio in 98-99 and I heard Kaycee-Escape.

First party-

Stardust in 2001- Houston, was too messed up at that time to remember much of the Bad Boy Bill set


2nd party I ever went to (2001)- Zenfest (13,000+)outside of Dallas, was hooked from then on

Tiesto, Micro, Kosheen, Acosta, Robert Miles

Tiesto's set- some songs from that set--my god what a night

Utah Saints- Lost Vagueness (Oliver Lieb mix)
Tiesto- Urban Train
Riva- Stringer
Yahel- Voyage
his remix of Silence

aww the memories... nation was definitely a good night! loved the lineup & especially the venue; it was sweet partying in a dark venue surrounded by huge vacant buildings... they actually filmed "fast and furious" and a bunch of other shit there. qbert & mixmastermike performances were the shit! & that was the 2nd time i saw djdan & glaude.. was a bigtime fan for sometime afterwards. surprised no one mentioned audio 2000. seemed EVERYONE was there. people i grew up with, lb state heads, etc.

Can't stand it when we meet people & there like I love trance or house, go on & on about how much thety're into it acting like they know more about it then us or anyone for that matter & then you hop in their car & what's coming from the speakers....hip hip yuck! knowing the original mp3.com dates us. makes me feel old! all these kids these days are like huh? mp3.com? whats that? or audiogalaxy same thing.

and yes i do...but..im pretty sure its fucked cause i have a bunch of mp3 cds that will never work correctly due to the storage method i chose at the time. now they are in a cd case but they were just in a spindle in my car. ill try to dig it up and see what i can do but im pretty sure its not going to be very good if i can get it off.

took me 3 hours to get in .. was only able to stay for 1 1/2 hour .. but Pronti & Kalmani made my night!

Been listening to electronic music since way back (Jean Michelle Jarre on cassette, anyone?). Never really got out. So first EDM experience was Heaven 1 yr anniversary/white party with Blank and Jones, 2/18/05. Drove up from San Diego with a friend who I knew for years but never knew was into trance until just before, and Kristina Sky convinced me that being in the 30s didn't preclude us from going and enjoying ourselves.

Had a great night. Paid for VIP and met Blank and Jones, had them sign the white pants I'd bought for the event. lol Still got pics online:

Since then have been to AvB and Tiesto, but BnJ was the best so far. Going to AvB tomorrow night with same said friend for our approx once a year night out for EDM..

The Shamen at the Spruce Goose (Technoflight?). I think that was '92. I was overdressed (never happened since). Next one was Double Hit Mickey out by Morongo (I think).

My first rave/club was Teknoklub in ktown in Jan/Feb of 2001. I was with my aspiring-actress roommate at the time, and she really wanted to check it out so I accompanied her along w/ some friends she met at her work (Abercrombie on 3rd Street Promenade). Wow, what an eye-opening experience. Everyone was making-out everywhere.

After that, I didn't go to any events until Giant NYE 2002 w/ Paul Van Dyk, Sasha, Junkie XL, etc. At the time, I didn't even really knew who they were.

Since that night, I really got into the music and started downloading sets. It was the year where Red and Spundae was really happening, and I swear, I went almost every weekend! There was a group of people that called themselves the Spundae Junkies who I rarely see anymore. Overall, good times, good times...
