-- What led you to trance?

What lead me to trance was when I went clubbing in Swansea, UK.
The Escape club brought me to trance, that was the first time that I heard it and I loved it.
Altough, I am not into it as much as I use to be, but still listen to it much more than other styles / genre's of music.

Alice in Wonderland is playing in the video loop and I find myself engulfed in some of the most wicked trance sounds I've ever heard. Dark, twisted, acidy, and just downright insane. A San Diego local dj named Hidroponik was on the decks. When he got off the decks, I asked him what that was he was playing. His answer... Acidtrance and Psytrance. The rest is history. |
Sasha & Digweed's Renaissance cd, the Prodify, & buying a random Matsuri record in 1994. It was all full-steam ahead from there.
Nigel Richards- Hands in the Air 1996. Best tech/trance set ever.
Alice Deejay
80's & 90's EBM artists that ended up in some of the Trance scene (Talla 2XLC, Front242, KMFDM and so on) doing remixes or being sampled by producers. Early Chicane, Marco V, Oakenfold, Corsten, Carl Cox and others of the mid-late 90's era sort of where my first real tentative steps into buying albums that where specifically trance/techno oriented, lot of the Industrial stuff I was listening too at the time, Skinny Puppy, Ministry, NIN and the like was also fairly electronic based.
