Evil1

The versions played on ASOT by armin are certainly not final, and if so he did a fucking bad job mixing.

Anyways, song is decent on its own but needs many remixes with less repeating of the vocals!

Vocals are nice, and to the bitchers out there, beauty lies in simplicity, grr... stupid morons bitching.

Life is about living, not about bitching tracks talking about life. Grr!!

8/10 for the Mix played :-)

despite that, its not rock influenced, what a stupid idea can people have telling this is ROCK lyrics, oh god.

All texts are about life, love and how someone lives (hip hop), maybe the state and countries.

And now you complain about youth, love, and thinking back?
oh god.. just shut the hell up.. *flee*

lets just play trance without any vocal, eh? best way ;o) .. wtf

LOVE IT!!

i quite like it, i think the build is really well done

Posted by Sami.H on Mar-19-2007 14:20:

Wow. It's even more emo than love you more but thats ok because I'm growing an emo haircut, Digweed style!

What build?

There's just the breakdown, some naff vocals, then the kicks and bass come in out of no where, with no energy or tension/release.

Oblivion, now there's a much better executed build-up

Posted by RaPiD____EyE_k on Mar-19-2007 16:14:

there were 2 different versions played in asot 291 and 292...with the one in 292 being better because there are less vocals

would work maybe?

Nope it doesn't. I went for a toilet and drink refill break when it was played at Crasher. It really is quite terrible, possibly even more so than 'Tracking Treasure Down'!!

Haven't seen enjoying Paul van Dyk a tune like in this video for a long time or maybe for the first time...

So PvD is emo then, that's why he always looks so sullen whilst mixing

That is unbelievable. I have never, and I mean never, seen him doing stuff like that. I think Pvd is still great.

Really not at all suprising to me that a couple of fellows who look like this...

...would produce such a shit tune.

Easily the worst thing I've heard labeled "trance" this year - these two should have their studio equipment taken away from them so no more half cocked musical abortions like this take place.

Posted by SPANIARD on Mar-22-2007 15:51:

It doesn't seem that bad in the video, just kind of generic. Would be interested to hear a higher quality sample.

This rubbish will somehow end up on the 2007 tranceaddict TOTY polls

It's weird, Under The Sun with their Whirlpool guise was excellent (well, the Solarstone remix at least).

Hey man - even some of their cheese has done well for me in the past (I used to play "Juicy" all the time), but this is utterly fucking horrid.

Posted by isoterra on Mar-22-2007 19:59:

the original of under the sun was pretty good too.. a bit more laidback than solarstone's clubbier take but still nice as a warmup track

Okay, I really try to respect everyone on TA, I dont mind people who love ASOT or Armin or Darude or whoever, I think everyone is entitled to listen to whatever they want, and I am glad TA is a place of varrying opinions and diverse people who are all centered on electronic dance music.

You sir, are a complete waste of everyone on this website's time, a waste of internet, a waste of kilobytes, and a waste of the electricity used by my monitor to display your pathetic posts. You bring nothing of value to any discussion, ever. You have never provided anyone with an interesting viewpoint, interesting information, or creative ideas of your own.

So do US a favor and fuck off, because I challenge you to find ONE person (besides Purple or djmaxima) on this website who would miss your departue. Nobody likes you. Nobody enjoys having you here. Nobody enjoys anything you type onto your screen and hit "submit" on.

I just wanted to make that very clear. I predict you will come back with some childish insult or insinuation that I'm an elitist or whatever the hell you see fit to call me since you have no way of actually winning any arguments, ever. I'll save you the time, since you oviously have an important and fruitfull life outside this forum, and suggest that you simply leave.

i mean... their tune octagen vs. whirpool - alaska (filo & peri remix) is still focking massive

this is seriously one of the worst EDM tracks i've ever heard. i'd much rather listen to euro dance or something even crappier than that. i seriously cannot understand why this tune was created or is being played by any dj.
IMO it's very very sad that this kind of crap is produced, released and played.

I dont understand how a guy like PVD, who has played such amazing sets and music over the years, can weave this into his sets with a straight face!

me neither. i've never been a fan of pvd though. but i do like many of his older productions and many tracks he used to play.
he went and called ian van dahl and dj sammy cheesy, yet he plays stuff that's even cheesier than those. he's a fucking hypocrite if you ask me. an idiot, who would like to be a pop star and not a proper dj.
i've pretty much lost all faith in most big name djs anyway. i think it would be just better to go listen to some local talent no one's heard of. you never know, you might hear some good music you've never heard before (unless the local "talent" is some asot kiddie playing whatever cheese the big names play).
this is a sad time for trance (and most other genres of EDM too), no doubt about it. pop culture is the last thing we need in the scene IMO.

Posted by Clovis on Mar-22-2007 22:00:

I love local DJs man. I feel like the past year or so has seen a serious decline in big DJs and alot of up and coming talents gaining acclaim. I think thats a great thing for EDM, we need some fresh talents and blood to start moving things along.
