What would an Atheist say about the hen and egg question?

Even though the question "What came first.. The chicken or the egg?" has already been answered and we all know that George Bush came first, this question treads on the same lines. Hypothetically speaking, lets assume that the egg came first. Then nature took its due time and the damn egg finally hatched, even though the human species still ponders over this issue when hydrogen will soon be powering our cars and just like the cars, the chicken has been degraded to a mere assembly line product. Anyway, say again for the sake of argument that what came out of the egg were siamese chickens. I don't mean a special breed of chicken that is served as a delicacy in asian restaurants when I say Siamese. I mean like them twins joined at birth. Again, nature took its due time and the chicks finally grew up. One fine day, they were crossing a road to get to the other side. Wait!!!! Why were the chickens crossing the road? Wait again!!!! Dont be going all smart on me and saying to get to the other side. That was only one of the chicken....what about the second one?
