Obviously the kids aren't asked to sprint up the stairs, you go at a slow pace which is not unsafe at all. Maybe we should just bubble wrap and make them wear armour, so all the kids don't get hurt. |
I'm not going to debate this anymore. It has nothing to do with the topic at hand. You all can have your opinion, and I will have mine.
RIP to the kid.

Yeah 8 year olds are too young to do that kind of thing. Maybe just some jumping jacks and stretching. Then dodgeball.

watch the video from the source tell me the point when your opinion changes

I imagined a fat kid hating the excercise so much he stopped and decided to bash his head into the ground to get out of doing the work out. Please forgive me. ![]() BTW, I don't think what really happened is funny... just my little scenario that I came up with seemed funny. I wonder what happened... maybe a brain aneurism? |
RIP
lol @ vince for not understanding that people just aren't agreeing with him.
the stairs are not the issue. unfortunately, the child would have died any other way. even running in a padded room. poor little guy and i also feel bad for the whole school because i am sure many of them haven't even been exposed to death yet and this makes it hard for them to understand.
i do think it's not the most creative type of exercise for the kids but it's not bad.
we used to run stairs as warm up all the time.
the little kids like running everywhere.

wow, since when running up and down the stairs such a great warm up? back in grades 7, 8 and 9 when I still did P.E., we just did circles around the track and field, what happened to doing that? ok so stairs are such a great way to exercise, but not for 8 y.o.
but yes, it is obviously not the stairs that directly caused his death, because he didn't fall of them, but still... I would get more breathless from walking up the stairs up to 4th floor of my res in a quick pace, then now, when I sometimes sprint across the parking lot of my apartment building to catch the bus

LOL, wow people are so uptight.
I had a visual image that made me laugh, and I thought I would try and share the humour.
Obviously I don't think what happened is funny, but the story that I came up with in my head when I was reading the article struck me humourous. Shoot me for being human.
If you know me in person, you know I am one of the most kind, caring, and compassionate people, ESPECIALLY with children, so give it a rest.
Half of you say and think worse shit than that on a regular basis, so get off your high horse.

WTF?!?!?!
Should we throw all kids into a fucking padded gym and let them try and run around in there? THEY ARE STAIRS!!
Eight year olds are fully capable of running up and down stairs... it's great cardio.
Whatever happened to the kid probably had absolutely nothing to do with the stairs.

If you know any of us in person, then you will see we're not (all) bad people either. I, for instance, have never been anything but nice to you in person. Personally I just think what you said before was a bit hypocritical on your part. It doesn't matter if you say something that others may seem inappropriate once a year, and the rest of us do it on a regular basis...if you're gonna knock us for saying something like that, don't turn around and say something like that yourself. |
