Ok, so for those interested in the lyrics, they're something along the lines of:

"This is an anthem for the girl that got away
This is an anthem for the world of yesterday
This is an anthem for the rebel of my youth <- I think?
This is an anthem for the risk of loving you"

Yikesssss. I'll probably have to hear this pap tonight, and if I do I think I'm going to try and find a Shivers album booklet from someone in the club, go home, and bloodlet with it.

By "the risk of loving you" I'm pretty sure Filo is saying "I'm afraid people will find out we're buttseksin!" to Peri.

yep. i heard it yesterday and it was fantastically cheesed out! seeing the video made me laugh and hearing the actual song in an mp3 made me wonder how long it took for them to come up with those lyrics and WHY they decided to call it anthem...

i admit i have some cheese songs on my comp, but wow. the lyrics on this one take it to a whole other level!

I would love to have been there while they were laying this track. I mean is it some stroke of diabolical genre-killing genius that hits you and puts lyrics that cheesy and awful with that horrific absolutely non-trance guitar strum?

The only thing I can figure is that this track is some massive joke being played on listeners of trance music. Even Armin has to be throwing up into the trashcan after he drops this track.

obviously i'm not going to say something's shit just because other people are saying it is. that's almost as bad as, say, liking something just because paul van dyk is playing it..

Filo & Peri were good in 2003 and 2004, with tracks like "Elevation", "Juicy", "1998", "Lights In Motion" and "Under The Sun (well the Solar Stone Remix)" and a few others, but they've gone in the electro-pop/house direction and the quality had dropped. Miss that old sound. I know artists need to progress, try new things, but at least make it sound decent!

The Anthem Song debate is just run its course now. Imo its clearly a piss take from PVD who slated stuf like DJ Sammy more than any other big name DJ yet he signs and promotes something thats equivalent to that level of cheese himself. Either Armin has been sucked in by the hype or he too is testing if people are that stupid that they will make such a terrible record massive (which it looks like going)

I guess the # 1 DJ in the WORLD, Paul Van Dyk and

the #2 DJ in the WORLD, Armin Van Buren

(who were, by the way, voted #1 and #2 by us) are much more misinformed then you wanna be DJ's......

Just do yourselves and us a favor please........listen to what you like and let us listen to what we like.....

I LOVE "Anthem", I think it's the best song I've heard in a long, long time, actually, the best song since "Tracking Treasure Down", another classic.....

Also, much in the same way that I did not vote for the disaster who is George W Bush, I did not vote for Armin or PVD in the djmag poll.

Well I just plain ol' didn't vote in the dj mag poll. At least I don't think I did. I may have voted for LORD OF BASS. I know I voted for Mikey Mike in 2005.

That may be so...but thousands and thousands of people like us did....

And, no you did not come to my home and shut the music off...

What I am saying is this....musical taste is variable, and what you guys don't like someone else likes alot, and vice versa......

Bashing is tasteless, childish, ignorant.......if you don't like a song, fine, simply don't listen to it....

Filo & Peri just happen to be one of my top 5 dj's and producers....and I like almost everything they have done, as I do Solarstone, G&D, etc....I personally don't like alot of dj's and I simply choose not to listen to them......

I'm never going to say they suck, worst ever, etc., because I am intelligent enough to understand that someone might enjoy them quite a bit...and by saying it sucks, I would be insulting them.....

I would say sticking to the taste of the "hundreds of thousands" is tasteless, childish, and ignorant.

I don't think most of us are bashing someone's tastes. We're bashing the fucking music because it's awful. If you want to listen to this gash, go right ahead, I won't burn you for it, doesn't bother me a bit. It is fucking gash though.

That's why so many producers/dj's in this path are fake and full of shit. I hate when people don't talk out about what they like and dislike, it pisses the crap out of me.
