-- Sasha and Digweed @ Mansion Review
Pages (4): « 1 2 [3] 4 »
Everyone knows that Sasha and Digweed dont give a shit anymore. They never bring it Miami, last years set at Space was the all time worse. And judging by what my friends all said about this one it sucked too and they love those guys.
A lot of the people in this thread need to step back and remember that the reviews are all based off of personal opinions. Just because one person liked it and you didn't or vice versa doesn't mean you need to bust a nut over it. Grow up.
this track is fucking huge, they dropped it on NYE as well
i seriously get goosebumps watching this shit, that light strobing over digweeed is fuckin money.
i think from reading the threads most people thought Sasha was great and Digweed below par. something else to remember....'only' a $50 cover, even for people without presales. Also, while there's not a lot of room to dance if you don't have a table, plenty of people went to Space and never got to even see the DJ they wanted to (Sander, Morillo, etc.) because they couldn't get in the rooms they were playing in. No one had that problem at Mansion for S&D.
Mansion does not strive to be the 'best' club out there in terms of sound/amount of area to dance, etc.. most people know this ahead of time - you can't really hate on the event if you know ahead of time how the venue is situated...
Just the video above proves that nothing major was missed if you weren't there. John's been playing the same tracks for a while, and has not put together a good set with them yet. I saw John in LA and NOLA for his Diamonds tour, and LA is the best place to see him. John and Sasha (honestly) are over American clubbers and pretty much the whole American way. If it wasn't for big paychecks, they would not be here.
A lot of places are over the new sound they are trying to capture, there is no vibe between the two, and there will never be a steady vibe between the two ever again. But like Oakenfold, the names will always pack a club (or in this case an Ultrabar) Face it, Twilo days, Renaissance days, and Delta Heavy days are long gone.
Sasha is just gonna concentrate on his mixes (Involver 2) and John with Transitions. They have done it all and are getting old and bored of it.
If you want a memorable night with SnD, call some friends over, turn out all the lights, and turn on Northern Exposure.

If your opinion on that night ( THE INSIDE SET NOT THE OUTSIDE SET WHICH SUCKED BALLZ AND WAS TOTALLY DIFFERENT ) ... if your opinion on the inside set from him was that it was bad then your opinion means you do not like the good sasha we all drool for.... |

| Originally posted by DOOMBOT This, among a ton of other posts in here, is a joke. These guys are one of the best damned djs on the planet and because they prove to be human by showing a bad performance, by your standards, they get remarks such as these? Yeah, that is really fair. The reality of it is, these guys have been doing this for years and are still one of the very best. I dunno, for some reason I think they still "care". |

sorry first track was pryda - armed. He played this track about 90 min in, and really was not anything special. The crowd's going nuts because they finally heard something good out of the crap set he played to start. Digweed was really on in Vegas, and in LA. By the time he got to the conference, he must've been beat from his tour. I was going to trek up to Pacha, but I am going to refrain after seeing him already do what he came to do in the states.

Nathan Fake - Outhouse(Valentino Kanzyani remix). You can download on Beatport or hear it on their Ultra set. Btw, Pryda - Armed is the second track on that Ultra set. It starts about 2 minutes into the set.
you know what, honestly this set pretty much reminded me of the countless nights i spent at twilo, years on years, this is how they played out in nyc, how they started out. digweed ALWAYS starts out slow, when its a s&d night, it's always a build of progression. i got in at 1230, it was slow as fuck but i didn't care i was too busy getting drunk, walking around you know warming up to the party. then come around 130ish sasha came on and it still was slow about 5 tracks into his set, i was perfectly fine with that, it didn't really bang out until like 230ish and thats straight through till 6am. thats exactly how it was at twilo. people expect bangers right off the bat, s&d were NEVER like that, the only exception set i've heard them bang out early was delta heavy at miami arena and digweed started off really dark and hard.
i absolutely loved mansions set, it was everything i expected out of them. i'm guessing those who did not have a good time were expecting tracks like xpander and shit, to tell you the truth, those 'popular' tracks by s&d aren't really their forte.
i would have died if sasha dropped trisco muzak and digweed dropped pa dida, those were the only two i wished would have completed a nigth of perfection
