That's quite remarkable in itself, because I wasn't even standing in any water, nor was there any water nearby that was fucking (to my knowledge). So if you think about it, he actually had to find some water, make it fuck, blow me into it, blow me out of it, and then hide the water, all while spinning a killer set.

So, whether you were there or not, you can't help but give the man a heap of praise.

hahahhahaha, ^5

By the end of the night i felt as if someone had tossed me into a washing machine and then put me into the drier on tumble... and after it was all done i came out of there a new man!!!

I think admist all this talk about John, we can't forget about the unmatched success of his brother George, who remains one of the top Clayshooters in the World...

I would like to know where in the British name etymology the surname Digweed came from

Banging beats here? Once in a blue moon. Digweed is here more often than DJs known for bangin beats.

And based on the size of the crowds that watch him play here set after set...I don't think he is going out of style.

I do agree with you mainly though, the guy does deserve the utmost respect.

he never really appealed to me, comes off as nothing special to me

digweed and i have had a rocky relationship. but he is did fight his way to my heart (and ears) and has never really left.

After the party, what do you say?

Sitting here listening to GU014 - Hong Kong, and then his show back to back. He always exhibits slow, patient madness.

Verdict: never better.

Never better. 4hrs says it is so.

Transitions 4 says it is so.

I think he only played like 3 of the same tracks.. which in my opinion is quite nice. A very versitile DJ depending on the crowd. i still give two thumbs up for Mr. Digweed

What tracks of Digweed's do you like that he's produced?

post of the year 2007

Oh man, I'm in fking tears! I forgot I posted that! hahahahahahaha

But yeah, mmmm that Dragonfly set. Where Shelley kept bitching that he was teasing 1983 all night. Next time, don't listen to 1983 [aka catchy favorite track ATM] before you go to a party and you won't think the DJ is playing it all night long

I thought he wasn't up to par at all when he played, but his Transitions 4 compilation is quite tasty.

GU 19 and Delta Heavy were the pinnacle of my interest in Diggers. Since then he's been losing me.. Perhaps its not him in particular, but as the music changed so had my interest in his work.

RIP 2002

DJ worship is wats wrong with the electronic music scene. People have stopped going to parties to party. Electronic music parties have become rock concerts and DJs have become rock stars. This is all well and good until you have the revelation that the guy up on the stage IS PLAYING RECORDS. Other people's music for the most part too. This is especially true when it comes to Digweed, a DJ who plays 'progressive' what does this 'progressive' mean anyway? progressive house? progressive trance, breaks, progressive R&B? when the fuck did progressive become its own monolithic genre? And then this progressive DJ / inventor of this brand new progressive music goes and says shit like 'me and Sasha are paving the way for the future' Dear John Digweed, youre PLAYING RECORDS of other people's music, you self important, stuck up progressive slag. Its the people that produce the music you play that are paving the way for your future.
And people eat this shit up, thats what puzzles me, worship a dude for playing records. And they say shit like his work is like higher art, and requires you to really pay attention to appreciate it. I'm not going to a party to pay close attention and be educated and revel in the brilliance that Digweed has in playing other people's music. I'm going to enjoy the party. And in essence, a DJ's job is to make the party better with the music he or she plays, and Digweed fails at this job, because first of all the energy he brings is inappropriate for a party. He looks like he doesnt want to be there. And his style can be accurately described as purely pretentious. I saw him in Toronto 9 days ago and I was bored off my ass until a scuffle occurred with security because my buddy chucked a crumpled piece of paper at Digweed's head.

lol, moron.

For starters, listen to Transitions 4. After that, revel in the fact that you are a moron.

BTW - you paid a minimum of $30 to see S&D. You had to have known what they were about, who they were, and how they played. Why even bother going?

Digweed might be one of the least pretentious DJ's out there. He realises he is playing other people's records, and is very thankful that fans come out to hear him spin. Try reading or listening to an interview or two, he is quite humble.
