I, for one, am very happy Armin does not constrict himself all of the time. He gets hundreds and thousands of demos and promo tracks sent to him of all electronic music genres, but mostly trance and progressive. He picks what is the best trance and progressive but always throws in a few curveballs to showcase new talent or very original, fresh stuff that he likes. It's not just about trance and frankly, it gets boring to hear the same genre throughout the whole 2 hours.

Damn, this track's title is on the tip of my tongue. It's a well-known track just with a new remix.

What you say is true, but, i mean, there are loads of new tracks that can be used to build-up a (mainly) trance set. Don't get me wrong, i do like mnml, tech house, etc a lot, but i really don't see how this fits properly in there. There are so many not known proggy trance or even trancy mood tracks which probably armin has knowledge of and could be used. Personally, i think mnml or tech house without track trancy mood, doesn't fit AT ALL in a show called ASOT..

I like this tune, IIO singer?

Well, I think if you asked Armin himself about the name of the show, he would probably say that it's not necessarily a state of trance music, but a state of trance for the mind. Basically, even though trance is a big part of the show, its history and Armin's DJ style, it's not just about that music style and it's almost a matter of happenstance - as in Armin happens to play and enjoy trance a lot, so he's drawn largely a trance-loving crowd with this radioshow. However, he doesn't make each week's show thinking he absolutely HAS to please strictly trance listeners or follow some sort-of exact formula. What he's doing today is basically perfect in my opinion. Some 'different' tracks, but not many. Therefore, if Armin notices from his DJ gigs that certain minimal or tech-house tracks work well in a set, he might incorporate them into this weekly radioshow. Furthermore, maybe he gets bored with the same ol' himself and tries to showcase new talent or fresh tunes without worrying about whether it seems "appropriate" or not to you or any other listener. And what is inappropriate anyway? I think a rap song would be inappropriate or a classical piece by Beethoven, but not the first 3 tracks of today's show, not at all. Anyway, let's just enjoy the music. I think we're not strictly on opposing sides of this argument anyway.
