OMFG That was the most fun Ive ever had in a theater! Planet Terror was way over the top. Lots of zombies, blood, gore, babes, humor, and lots of other good stuff. It was a roller coaster ride in the mind of Robert Rodriguez and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Contrary to what people are saying about Death Proof starting off slow and blah blah blah I thought it was a nice change from the total anarchy going on in Planet Terror. The dialog in the movie is awesome and extremely important for character building. The whole first half of the film sets up the ending very well (you want to see Kurt Russel's character get whats coming to him). The ending is great and everyone in the theater was cheering. Grindhouse is by far my favorite movie of the year!
If you go in the theater with an open mind and check your over inflated expectations at the door you should leave the theater with a smile on your face.
I love when the stupid fucking kid shoots himself in the face...
That's exactly how stupid kids really are, too

grindhouse fails its opening weekend
maybe the buzz will boost week 2
Tarantino is a writer, if you expect his acting to great you'll be disappointed each time.

The girl is completely unrestrained at some points, spinning around while the car is moving and being sideswiped. Seemed like Tarantino wanted to 1up Audition's take on women empowerment. how many times did that lady try to "stick it up" kurt russels ass? At the end, with kurt whimpering crying and shit, it was like he was being raped and the women were taking the role reversal, beating the shit out of tough guy. |

I'm still boggled about Death Proof.
Remember how Stuntman Mike said he starred in Vanishing Point and all the other movies by the director after that?
Then the girls say they were HUGE fans of Vanishing Point and the others he mentioned?
Why didn't they realize that Stuntman Mike was the actor from those movies, instead they killed him?
I still don't get it.
They like the cars in Vanishing point, not the drivers.
To add to the previous msg, he starred as the stuntman in the movie so wasn't the same actor that headlined Vanishing Point.
I just got back from Grindhouse and I have to say... WOWOWOWOWOWWOW! I knew I would love the movie, but damn, never thought I would love it that much!
I felt that Planet Terror was the better Grindhouse-type movie, but I think Death Proof was the better of the two. That could have been a real non-B movie if it wanted to be. But Planet Terror was fuckin wikkid! The fake trailers were unreal and all those little Grindhouse effects like the Restriced ratings, the upcoming attractions stuff, all of it. Great stuff by both directors. The music was perfect for the whole thing. Awesome 3 hrs spent
Oh yeah, that continuous shot in Death Proof with the girls talkin in the restaurant was wikkid!
Terry
cant wait to see this movie.
Liked them both, good music especially in Death Proof. Planet Terror was way more over the top. Did not see the youtube "hobo with a shotgun" trailer.
Not much of a crowd at this theatre dunno why they started it so early, more audience would be better. Pre-drink advised.

i hear fergie was in one of the movies? how was that?
