I'm sorry but since I am the one currently out of pocket (way out of pocket) I demand more of an explanation and some indication of concern for my troubles. So to me, no the first email did NOT contain all the info I needed. Agree with me or don't.

Like I've already said, it was arrogant of me to mention TA and I was a little embarrassed about it when I posted this thread and I could have edited it out but I didn't. I put everything on the table, their comments and mine. I was fuming at the time so I probably went about a few things the wrong but it absolutely does not change the fact that these people deal horribly with customer complaints. What difference does it make if it's an online deal? It's still money out of the bank.

Once more, if you want to tell me I'm a bitch and shouldn't have gotten upset and complained, I challenge you to disprove the validity of my restaurant argument. If you can't do that and you have nothing new to add to this debate then stop posting in this thread.

I appreciate everyone who has defended me so far and I respect the opinions of the people who haven't. I especially enjoyed reading the generally objective comments from people in the biz.

Personally, I tend not to deal with internet companies that dont advertise their phone number. Call me a cynic (sp?), but I just think they have something to hide when this is the case.

There's nothing worse than having to deal with customer services through email as you get the feeling that they don't care (when maybe they do) as you can't tell their tone through text.

This is why I always deal with customer services over the phone as I feel that something will be done this way.

Edit:

Oh, forget it. This is just going around in circles.

In my experience dealing with professional DJ's i have found that majority tend to be very demanding when you are doing a service for them. They allways pay attention to smallest detail, and expect you to kiss their ass. I think its ok though. When you are a wedding DJ, theres a bride that expects everything to be perfect, and the DJ has to be kissing everyone's ass to be liked and to be hired again. Now this guy expects DJdeals to do the same for him. Thats why wedding or party DJ's are some of the most difficult people to work for. But there are always exeptions.

To KristineClub:
Being a dick to someone you just gave your money to is not wise thing to do. They got what they want, you did not, yet. You still need their help to get your stuff. Be nice to them. This way you have a better chance getting your help faster. They will want to help you. After you get your stuff, do whatever you want. Bitch at them, post negative remarks on TA, whatever. But not till you receive your purhcase or money.

I used my credit card to buy the thing, it's not like I couldn't just as easily dispute the charge if they didn't send me the mixer. Besides, they're not the ones helping me, Allen & Heath are and they're doing a great job.

Thats true. Good luck to you next time.

He should have at least given a time frame - "A&H will get in touch with you via email within 3 business days" or something to the effect.

He also should have given a quick apology, even though it was not djdeals's fault...just like the waiter apologizes when the chef messes up your meal.

That's my opinion, and that's how I run things.

i personally dont bother with online websites...even agi. i'd rather go into guitar center and buy my stuff and go home happy. if theres any issue, its easy to go back and either complain or get the issue resolved. that and i really dont like waiting to get gear. i want to mess around with it that day. that and guitar center is good at price matching

Greg, if you didn't jump the gun and take some time to read their website, they've stated this under their warranty policy:

quote:
DJDeals.com Inc. guarantees a full warranty on every product we sell. For most products this is between 90 days & 1 year from the date of purchase. Should the manufacturer not honor their warranty, we will assist you with obtaining warranty service.

If an item that you purchase is defective, we recommend that you contact the manufacturer for service on the product. Most manufacturers will replace a defective product within 30 days of the purchase date, and will repair a product for the remainder of the 1 year warranty.

Do not contact us if you have a defective product, contact the manufacturer of the product. Most manufacturer contact information is listed at the bottom of the product pages on our website.

BUT.....

I'm with you on this one. Having such bad customer service and being so unprofessional is unacceptable

Funny how I had a incident this pass week with my DJM800 that I purchase from AGIPRODJ

My order was suppose to be shipped via Fedex last Friday but somehow without me or anyone else @ home (with signature requried) the package was "delivered"

I was pissed as hell cuz I've been expecting this all week. So I called AGI and they immediately contact Fedex so they could investigate about my package. Fedex told AGI they would contact them on Tuesday at the latest. Well, AGI promise me that they would OVERNIGHT a DJM800 to me on Tuesday and guaruntee that I will get a mixer on Wednesday at the latest no matter what happened!!

Knowing that this is not their fault at all, they still deliver grade "A" customer service!!!

AGIPRODJ just earned all my business on equipment because of what they've done for me

Is that last line quoted from their website really legal in the US? we sold you a product that did not work and took your money, but it's not our problem?
Makes me appreciate australian consumer protection a lot more. whoever sold the product takes responsibility for it, and a defective product gives the consumer the choice of replacement, repair or refund. Doesn't stop every store trying on all sorts of crap, but it's still a lot better than "call the manfacturer and let us enjoy your money"

Quick answer to that, technically no it's not legally binding. HOWEVER, if you purchase via the internet and you do not live in the country that the retailer is based, in the local consumer rights do not apply, nor do the laws in the consumers country so in that case you would be fecked. I think in this case both consumer and retailer are in the US. But something for the rest of you guys to watch out for.

The key point here though is definately about customer service. Although the TA did get this sorted in the end, this is not a professional approach to customer service. Even if it's a standardised script some form of courtesy in the letter would be called for. I have actually recieved better customer service from HTFR and that's saying something.

I have two words for any online company that thinks they can enforce a policy like that, and they are CHARGE BACK.

In General;
Without wishing to sound all preacher like, good manners cost nothing and you will be surprised how tolerant and helpful most people will be just with a slight change in wording.

Bad manners is bad manners and it has nothing to do with wether you are a retailer, wedding DJ or Top 100.

Cheers
Nem

DJdeals.com is known for not shipping, processing orders weeks after placed, or ignoring any e-mails you send them. In fact, I am surprised that you got so many responses out of them!

They have good prices that are competitive on Ebay and their website. However, I think that they buy second hand merch from the companies that they sell. What I mean is they buy returned things, or defected-refurbished items, and sell them at full price still.

Bottom line is, for a few bucks more, it is worth it to buy it from someplace else. DJdeals.com is the worst place you could buy anything to do with music equipment anywhere on the net. Try and find a phone number to the main office, I dare you.... Sketchy company...
