White Party Week: DJs stirred by the crowd Enthused by roughly 14,000 energized participants in spectacular settings, the artists in attendance offered sets that were every bit a match for their reputations. On the tech/trance side, after a stage-setting introduction from Wizz, Holland�s Sander Van Doorn more than lived up to expectations with a frenzied session. Not to be outdone, the very popular Armin Van Buuren excelled once more, rousing the hall with hypnotic waves of well cushioned rhythms. British trio Above and Beyond then took over with a brilliant demonstration of their expertise, a prelude to Montreal�s Preach, who brought the proceedings to a close with another of his inspired performances. The House room, meanwhile, giving off an underground vibe with its immense drawings of superheroes, pulsated at a high frequency all night long thanks to DJs like Cesar Romero and Stephan Grondin, who pulled out all the stops from the word go. The monumental Peter Rauhofer followed with his usual flair, lighting up the crowd with a singular selection of rhythms. Following the stunning vocal contributions of Israeli singer Maya, her compatriot Offer Nissim raised the roof even higher, heightening the intensity with powerful mixes that were a hit with everyone in the room. Sultan followed with a brilliant set, which gave way to yet another masterly session courtesy of Deep Dish�s Ali and Sharam, to end the morning. Montreal nights to the rhythm of related events About fifteen satellite events rounded off the program for Montreal�s White Party Week this year. International artists like DJ Dan, Max Graham, Princess Superstar, Axwell, Twisted Dee, Sherry Vine and Joey Arias contributed to heightening the quality of these special evenings in various Montreal clubs. Feeling all the comforts of home, Erik El, Patrick Dream, Bruno Brown, Malick and several other local DJs also honored the festive reputation of Quebec�s metropolis. Next year�s event, the 14th edition, will take place from Thursday to Monday, March 20 to 24, 2008. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Une r�ussite sans pr�c�dent pour la 13e �dition de la Semaine Bal en Blanc Un vent de folie festive a d�ferl� sur Montr�al au cours de la 13e �dition de la Semaine Bal en Blanc qui a battu son plein du 5 au 9 avril avec une s�rie d��v�nements tr�s courus. � commencer par le Bal en Blanc lui-m�me qui, victime de son succ�s, a malheureusement d� refouler des clients � la porte du Palais des Congr�s de Montr�al. Les organisateurs tiennent encore une fois � s�excuser aupr�s des d�tenteurs et d�tentrices de billets qui ont �t� frustr�s par cette situation impr�vue. L�atmosph�re �tait si exceptionnelle lors de la grande nuit du Bal en Blanc qu�un maximum de participants a d�cid� de rester jusqu�� tr�s tard le matin. L�absence de roulement de client�le, pr�vu de bonne foi selon l�exp�rience des �ditions pr�c�dentes, a ainsi �t� � la source de ce probl�me � l�entr�e. Toutes les personnes n'ayant pu entrer � l'�v�nement ont pu obtenir le remboursement de leurs billets selon les modalit�s pr�sent�es sur le site balenblanc.com. En d�pit de ces inconv�nients, il demeure que la 13e �dition du Bal en Blanc aura certainement �t� l�une des plus r�ussies, une foule compacte ayant dans� avec une �nergie imparable dans les deux salles, durant les quinze heures qu�a dur� l��v�nement. Bal en Blanc : des DJ inspir�s par la foule Stimul�s par les quelque 14 000 participants survolt�s au milieu des am�nagements spectaculaires, les artistes en pr�sence ont offert des prestations � la hauteur de leur r�putation. Du c�t� tech/trance, le Hollandais Sander Van Doorn a plus que r�pondu aux attentes avec un set endiabl� apr�s une introduction efficace de Wizz. �gal � lui-m�me, le tr�s populaire Armin Van Buuren a de nouveau excell�, soulevant la salle avec des vagues hypnotiques de rythmes bien appuy�s. Le trio britannique Above and Beyond a ensuite pris la rel�ve avec une �loquente d�monstration de son savoir-faire, en pr�lude au Montr�alais Preach qui a clos le parcours avec une autre de ses prestations g�niales. D�allure tr�s underground avec ses immenses dessins de superh�ros, la salle House a vibr� � haute fr�quence durant la nuit enti�re, gracieuset� de DJ tels Cesar Romero et Stephan Grondin qui ont mis toute la gomme d�s l�ouverture. Incontournable, Peter Rauhofer a suivi avec son flair habituel, allumant la foule avec des rythmes tri�s sur le volet. Suite � l��blouissante prestation vocale de la chanteuse isra�lienne Maya, son compatriote Offer Nissim a ensuite cass� la baraque, haussant encore davantage l�intensit� avec ses mix puissants qui ont fait l�unanimit�.
