Flames just simply suck !!!

I really feel sorry for the kiper , he has a sad unmotivated team playing in front of him . They are making the wings look great .

so, who do you guys think deserves to win the cup and why?

i'm not talking about who your favorite team is, i'm talking about the skill that a team has demonstrated this season, the work that's been put in, the passion for the game, and all the rest

630 tonight. lets get some goals this time.

Posted by xtr3m on Apr-15-2007 23:05:

There's a talk that the match-up might be postponed by 30 minutes because of the Mavericks game. Prepare for horrible ice.

Posted by TCB on Apr-16-2007 04:11:

close game. turco with big saves with only 2mins left in regulation.
cannucks outshooting dallas for a change.

3rd period is the intensity they have needed. out shooting dallas 15-4

could be heading for another OT

Posted by 35 and hooked on Apr-16-2007 04:36:

i think i know !

I would say Buffalo is the best all round team , they are the best coached as well but still go wings go !!

Detroit's just treating Calgary like the 8th seed they are.

this kid Hansen is really impressive with his speed, skating and scoring chances and earning himself some more playtime. i hope he makes next year line up!

it's a toss up now. he was projected to make the line-up in 2-3 years, just needing another year under his belt adjusting to north american hockey at the AHL level. Same with prospect Grabner. I've heard a lot of underlining rumblings about Hansen all year, his AHL numbers are unimpressive but his speed and zest are bonuses. A low low pick in 2004 he's turned a few heads since being picked. He now has the distinction of being the first ever Dane to play in the NHL post-season. I think some dmen will be gone (Fitz) and replaced (Edler over Bourdon imho with Koltsov's name floating around too) and a couple forward spots up for grabs again (seeya Bulis, Chouinard and Santala).

As for Det vs Cal, wow, if this entire series follows the first two games, its a sweep. There have been a few series in the past where a team gets whipped in the first two and then falls off the next four, but.. I had Cal pegged to win in 6 even though they've played mediocre at best all season. We'll see in a week or so if I eat humble pie on that one or not.

That Hansen....He's so hot right now

Posted by TCB on Apr-16-2007 14:29:

calgary now has to win the next 2 games at home. if they do they have a chance as it will be a simple best of 3 series. but i must admit as a flames fan its not looking good.

Posted by SolemnThirsty on Apr-16-2007 16:08:

^the rest of calgary team gotta show up to the game. kip is making save after save on his head and his glove hand is quick. Cal gotta stay out of the penalty box! some of the calls the ref are told to make is pretty ridiculous so far in this playoff.

buffalo. it's been 10 years since they've been able to win their division. they've been drafting perfectly (nashville and san jose have been doing excellent drafting jobs as well, but unlike them, buffalo has been able to grab a couple franchise like players without having a top 5 pick) for the new nhl. they have great speed, good goaltending, and even with half their team injured half the year, still manage to win their conference. last year with a tonne of injuries to their defense, they went to the conference finals. they play an exciting style of hockey and have a great coach in lindy ruff.

clear favorites.

^but in the new era, "good" teams don't last more than 2 years together. Either Drury or Briere will probably sign on with a different team after the Sabre playoff run end.

same can be said about pittsburgh. 3 years after drafting and starting the big three, they could be out one of them before their 'dynasty' even starts. it's good and bad for the sport. good because it levels the playing field (detroit paying 70+ million on players, and teams way over-spending ie 8mill on yashin?!!) but it's also bad (no more dynastys, no more players being able to realistically finish careers with teams -ie ryan smyth - with a few exceptions - ie sakic, sundin -).
