Spiderman when he had the symbiote, it was a pure black outfit w/ the messed up white, mean looking spider symbole... it wasnt just a dark replicate of his original blue and red one, as was used in the movie.

PLUS, and here's the part that bothers me the moist.... throughout the entire movie until the part in the bell tower, the damn symbiote really just seems to be like some kickass pwerfully endowed version of his normal suit. I mean Parker can just take it off? Is that the way it happens in the comics (i doubt it, but i cant recall). If so, then i retract these statements.

I would think that in the comics Peter's black symbiote suits would just transform to mimic human clothing, as it does w/ Brock.

Yea, I noticed that too. One day he just takes the suit off, folds it, and puts it in a little box, and the next he couldn't take it off without hitting himself with a giant bell?

Well thats the symbiotes one weakness, vulnerability to high sound waves...

But AFAIK once the suit bonds w/ you, YOU DONT TAKE IT OFF!

If you dont wanna look like "black spiderman", then the suit mimics real clothing, or just disappears under ur skin.

It is NOT a thing that you take off, as peter did through the movie (until the very end when he couldnt ... riiiight)

This thread has destroyed my expectations from the movie...

But I will still see it

Yup, i saw it. Some of the COOLEST fight sequences I've seen done. Very well done, 9/10!!

However...some of the crappiest writing I've ever seen butcher a block buster. So many contrived, corny scenes. So many 'key lines' that were just too cliche. It was out of control. Whoever OK'd the screen play is the person who made this movie into a 'meh' movie. It could have been mind blowing.

Agree with all re: the suit being taken off. In the secret wars (when Spidey got a new suit on a different planet, cause his was wrecked), Spidey doesn't take it off, it just changes into clothing or retracts to part of his body.

And agreed about the suit... i think it was a slam against Todd McFarlane not to use the design; no one drew spidey better than McFarlane:

I did, however, thought they did a great job with Venom. Even though I kept waiting for jokes to come from brock a la that 70s show.

Maybe i just hate toby mcguire in that roll?

6/10 overall. Man, could have been so much more.

so far the movie has made $381 million world wide.

Thank you for confirming that, and in the orig comics the suit never gets "taken off" ... but that it changes to resemble clothing, etc.

Also, Ill agree I think w/ McFarlane being the best Spidey penciler. Ill even rank him about J. Scott Campbell's work (who is my FAVOURITE comicbook artist!). McFarlane captured him well.

Though, Id KILL to see Rick Leonardi draw him! NO BUDDY in this world draws a Spider-Man better. Than man was a pencil genius IMO!

He drew for Spider-Man 2099 my favourite Marvel comicbook of all time!

Id fucking shit bricks to see that adapted to a movie (and theres NO CORNINESS in that series! So I wouldnt be cringing at parts in teh movie hopefully then)

wow that move was horrible.

i didnt know if to take it serious or to laugh at it. so i booed it in the theatres and everyone followed.

i dont know what the director was smoking when he made that...what a flop...

theres 2 good series when it comes to comic books...the phoenix series and the venom series. I don't know how they fucked up both of them.

I can't understand what the fuck all the hype about the first one was anyway. Sure it was ok but still cheese with uninspired special effects. I don't like new CGI shit...it still looks like cartoons. At least LOTR was somewhat believable.

The 2nd Spiderman was also "meh". I"ll probably just get rocked before I go in and laugh at all the silly crap people are talking about. Sometimes those are the best movie experiences. I'll never forget absolutely killing myself laughing during The LEague of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
