to bar rio: what is it gonna take for you to know that when you have a techno club you need to bump up the volume. as a techno clubber, i literally need bass in my face. i am not interested in hearing the ppl behind me talk about whatever. it's amazing the number of people who agree on this statement. and take that huge bar rio houston sign it's very out of place and messes with the nice layout.

dave seaman, you better rock that joint next week.

It's time for someone to visit SPACE in Miami and that will fix the people talking in the background. And as far as trance goes, that night was the wrong night to go to hear a touch of trance or house my friend, But the person you should see is SVD next month. Sander Van Doorn He'll give you trance.

i don't wanna visit miami to go to a good techno club. i moved here from los angeles and i know how good clubs are, i've also been to miami crobar back when it wasn't cameo. my suggestion is to bar rio since i live in houston now and i want to enjoy my clubbing night here.

i think it started out a little slow, but after zabiela went on, after a couple songs, i was rockin out.
i've got some videos that i absolutely MUST get the titles of, but hopefully they'll be on the cd that i'll buy tomorrow/sunday.
i'll also post the pics...although i couldn't get a good shot.

of the venue: it was the first time i had been to bar rio, i liked it! the only thing was that i feel the sound could have been a little louder (to the point where you can actually feel it...), but besides that, i liked the setup. now with a hopefully increasing crowd in houston, the whole dance floor will be full!

more comments later, i want sleep.

Thanks for a fun night

JZ

WAS EVERYTHING I EXPECTED HIM TO BE!!!

HE'S THE MAN OF MY DREAMS....

My night was catapulted when he played his own personal version of DAFT PUNK'S, HARDER, BETTER, FASTER, STRONGER . . . .IT WAS WONDROUS!!!It is my favorite song from the duo, and I keep being surprised as I hear more and more remixes to the song,, and for ZABIELA to play such a genius WELL CRAFTED remix to it, and to hear it LIVE, iT's just PRICELESS! I admired Zabiela for his technical skills, his IMPECCABLE scratching skills, second to none, which I was able to witness finally, his superior ear for rhythm, and his unique sound. what a better dj than one who smiles, feeds off the crowd and plays one more, when the crowd asks for one more song? Our section started our own little chant, and the energy was great. As you know, I was dancing all night, and this time I came prepared. When Zabiela and Nic were winding things down, Zabiela wrote THANK YOU!! on his laptop showing it to the crowd and I thought it was just lovely!

That was freakin SWEET! I've never seen that before, and I didnt even expect that. Honestly, Zabiela is probably the only dj (as far as what Ive seen live) that can get the crowd going and is the best at starting the hype when it comes to communicating between Dj and crowd. Sick ass show i must admit! The music was killer

absolutely loved one of the last tracks they hammered -- can anyone ID? "gimme something to believe..." reminds me of soulwax's "ny excuse"

[it might actually be your 5th video]

heh now we're headed down the right path.

As for the laptop thank you, he does it a lot...it's a sort of trademark (along with the occasional looped "thank you" with samples and fx at the end, as well)

Had another great night. Nice seeing a lot of you again, and meeting a few for the first time, as well. Thanks to Nic & James again, and to Kos for yet another wonderful opening.

now for some IDs...

Posted by JBDreamerie on May-22-2007 02:01:

Posted by JBDreamerie on May-22-2007 19:55:

oh yea
i also had a video of zabiela playing Juergens - Love it, but it wasn't too good, so didn't post it.
