When do we find out about this international guest? Ottis Jr, who uses the alias as Millhouse, thinks it's SVD. That would be sick. I am going with............. Bjork.

count me in on this one
Ferry is an awesome choice for the re-opening of eleven50. (i'm still refusing to call it Opera. it still just doesn't sound right yet.)
Can I assume that since it says "extended set" and that there are no opening DJs listed, that Ferry will be playing open-to-close? That would be awesome.
I thought eleven50 was a SICK name for a club it just sounded so "hip"

let's call it Oprah and watch it go BOOOOMMMMMM
The name change is a prime example of desperate marketing. I've partied at Eleven50 since early 2002 and to me, it will always be, Eleven50. The only reason you would ever change the name of an established, and succesful venue is to alter your marketing stragety to a new crowd. I completly support new renovations in layout and sound design, but honestly, the name Opera, is terribly un-inviting for EDM. Eleven50 is a legend in Atlanta. Few clubs other than Backstreet, The Riviera, and MJQ have reached that level of success and sustainabiltiy. My only hope is that the "current" club owners/investors aren't aiming to market to the Midtown crowd, as Compound did, ultimately sealing their fate as a wash of a venue for any serious EDM fan.
Whatever the purpose is, I hope that Eleven50 is able to sustain itself as the primary venue for major EDM acts. I have too many memories in that club to pass off the purpose to a hollow and empty commercial venue, seeking to gain a buck by representing itself as a whore to hip/hop and Top 40 dance a.k.a, Star 94 or 95.5, the beat. I only saw Mike B grace the Eleven50 stage once, and it was the most horrific opening set I've yet to hear in the A.T.L.

I have talked to some of the managers of Opera at the gym, and they sort of incenuated the same thing, that they are catering to a more "diverse" crowd....Why don't they just cut to the chase and say they are going to be playing alot of hip-hop and top 40. It's all greed. The masses like that music, so they figure they can make more money with that music. What I was told is that they are going to give Liquified 2 weekend nights per month (so basically 2/8 of weekend nights or 1/4 of the business will be EDM), and then they can have it if they want to bring someone during the week.
Agreed. Wetbar is a fabulous venue. I've enjoyed it since it was Blu, back in 2002. I've never had a bad night in that club. I think the transition it made from Blu to Wetbar was nicely done, and they stayed true to their audience, although the circuit parties moved to Jungle (which definately isn't a negative, considering the music at wetbar continued to stay strong on saturday nights).
Still, all in all, I hope Wetbar holds steady and continues to host Liquified nights. The gay crowd really deserves some exposure to other genres. In the end, gays only wanna dance, so this fusion of cultures will probably prove to be a real utopian experiment.... Possibly some flahsbackage to the incredible Backstreet days where all cultures met equally on the dance floor and shared some of the most wonderful club moments I've had the fortune to witness
