-- How many of you go out to clubs?
Pages (4): « 1 2 [3] 4 »
I use to go quite a bit.. Mainly to listen to what my favourite Djs are playing, I was intrigued and wanted to keep up. Godskitchen is bout 15 miles away, so its pretty handy having that on my doorstep.
Although.... I go much less recently, partly due to money, partly due to none of my close mates are into clubbing, but mainly because I download a lot of sets and whack them on my Ipod thus keeping up with what everyone is playing.
i try to go often (when it's a dj i want to see). it depends how often i go though because some djs i don't care about seeing and they seem to recycle the same djs around here anyhow, so it depends. for example, i skipped the armin show and the danny howells show they had here recently and i wasn't able to attend the markus show that i wanted to go to that was last week or so because of graduation. i'm actually going to a pvd show with my friend because he wanted me to go with him on the 15th...i hope it's good
now that i'm out of college i will be a little easier for me to go as much as i want to (getting a new car). i moved away from the city so that's why the car was necessary...

i go bout once or twice a month. havent seen a big dj in a while though, mostly just the local guys
At least once a month. Used to be more but as time passes and crews of friends evolve, things turn more towards house parties and the like in favor of hitting the clubs.

I've been going out at least twice a weekend for the past 6 weeks, and at least two weekends a month before that. No trance involved.

the last two clubs i went to played hip-hop and top 40s. the only reason why i went was because i met up with an old friend and some other girls and we were in v.i.p... other than that i can't stand going to top 40/hip hop clubs because i don't have as much fun as i do in an edm club. i never drink or do drugs at at avalon (where i usually go) but i will definitely have a drink(s) if it's music i don't really like...
every weekend along with raves
Az rhymes with spaz
Due to money issues (still a student) only tend to go to local events in the city of Sheffield, now that we have the 'Off the Rails' night at Club Void, add to that Planet Zogg (psy-based) and the occasional Gatecrasher night when the lineup is to my liking, i guess its around 1-2 a month (although goes quieter in the ibiza season), most of the time thats enough, the days of every week at Gatecrasher have gone, and to be honest its probably a good thing now i'm older at least i can get some things done on some weekends! And if it was every weekend like it was then i would feel i was missing out.
massive fucking +1 to Az
This weekend let's see..
Jeff Fontaine (MTL) + Jeff Grosse (Boston) @ Stereobar
Carl Craig, Gamall + Mossa @ Stereo
Danny Torrence (MTL) (Extended 8 Hour set, sick mtl local plays mtl house
) @ Stereo
Audion + My My My (MTL/ Argentina, Chic Miniature (both MTL/ Argentina) + Vonstoke @ Piknic Electronik
+ like 4 other parties at peoples house
and i missed so many more
cobblestone jazz, rhythm and sound, gui Boratto, michael mayer jesse somfray, pheek, kode9, hawtin magda, hearttthrob, wighnomy brothers

all missed because of work or other parties
montreal was alive this weekend
I've been meaning to listen to some Carl Craig for a while now. Do you have any sets or anything from him that you'd recommend?
why do people still call them raves?
i'm almost out too often...couple times a month and due to my location i generally see big name djs.

I'm still too young to go back in the States...it's so irritating that I'll have to go back in two months and be drinking soft drinks all the time again
Here in China I tend to only go once or twice a month, usually just when I'm with a group of friends who want to go or somebody's going back to their home country. BTW, I don't know how it is in Europe but everywhere I've been the trance music people are saying is "too mainstream" isn't mainstream at all. In most of the clubs in China (in Xian anyway) they just play the same hip-hop/Chinese pop/the-worst-of-top-40 crap, sometimes "remixed" to an awful backbeat. I know of one location where they actually play EDM, and have only managed to get there once.
Anywhere else, the drinks have been my salvation.

There are probably 3 nights which book the big trance dj's and these are usually monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly, whereas I could go out any weekend of the year and find a night putting on dj's from the house, techno and electro variety of music.. I try and get out at least twice a month, usually to pressure at the arches and sub culture at the sub club, but due to a lack of funds what with being a student and having a holiday to save for, it's not too often I get out just now. |
mostly club fuse, copl times a year since its a long drive
I'm almost retired at the age of 21, because most of my friends don't like it, i'm getting a bit tired of it myself (every night is always the same shit, nothing surprises me anymore), and most of the times I don't feel it's worth it to go out for a local no-name idiot who still plays Shania Twain - Man! I Fell Like A Woman.
I'm serious, I heard that track in the club I was at, this last NYE.
