I pick and choose my battles....and for the most part going out in NY is a battle. Most of the time I'm out I'm taking photos which is pretty much like working anyways. Especially when you live in Queens and have to take the train home after partying.....I no longer do after parties because they are totally pointless in so many ways. Pretty much if I'm not taking photos I hardly go out anymore. Thank god summer is here because I'll be at the beach fishing more so than partying.

I'm done with going on absolute tears and party binges. It's just not healthy for me physically or emotionally. I have a gf now and have realized that going out and partying way too much was basicly because of a phase to just be selfish and do my own thing which is fine. I don't regret anything but when I have someone special now I'm more likely to be with her rather than being at some shady party getting my boarding pass to mangledesh That's not to say there won't be fun times. It's just going to be different.....mature partying if you will. I never will stop loving house/techno music even when I am 45. I hopefully will be a better dj then as well

I love when people say that!

PS: I also dont party quite as much, because lets be honest, the music from 1999-2003 >>>>>>>>> than now by a long shot.

The best party of the year for me (and the ONLY party that gave me that ol skool butterflies) was Armin @ TW and thats essentially because he played everything pre-2003.

um... I'd add PvD @ Roxy to that list.

glad to hear that so many are "on the same page" as I. I just get so envious when I read party review thread, someone gushing about "wow, what an awesome night" or some other set of adjectives to describe the experience... I just get sad - I think that my "glory" days are behind. I won't ever experience that rush of riding the BPM pony, of having my blood pumped by massive club experience. It's like the feeling you experience after coming back from a terrific vacation. The only difference here - knowing that even if you took the same trip again, your experience won't be the same.

*sigh*........ but that's why I got my synthesizers and home studio - keeps me busy thinking up melodies or just pouring out my emotions acoustically.

We should have a get together party for those who stopped partying. It will have lots of "mature" partying experience - music you'd be able to pick, chilled out atmosphere, wine & cheese and plenty of sitting spaces so that you could converse...

hey that sounds like an idea for a lounge party =)... I wish I had a lounge.

I am actually hearing that from a lot of people IRL too. Not just TAs. There was a big group of us who crashed n burned after going balls (or boobs) out for so long.

I've come to realize that you need to support the local scene and pick something special to go crazy with... How many times have you heard that you can't force something? Now usually it refers to relationships or lack thereof, but it also applies to nightlife too. You can't force the feelings to return so you can recreate that mystical night of WOW-ness.

If you suffer from Clubbing ED, there is no viagra to fix it...
