the lines through each side of the triangle indicate that each side is the same length

nah the tick marks signify that all the sides with that specific tick style are the same. in this instance all sides are equal.

Also a right triangle would have to denote that one of the angles is right. That's not in the picture

Posted by Omega_M on Jun-19-2007 22:57:

Ok, x=19.

Basic Algebra fails me..

Angles not at a right angle...

Give me complex polynomial derivation and I will feel better.

alright you maths lovers try this...

Each child in a family has at least 3 brothers and 2 sisters. What is the smallest number of children the family might have?

lol, forgot about that. i was just going off the 90 degree angle.

From that perspective I see a 90 >:|

i have been bested!!

7?

A square divided in two would in fact make two right triangles. But the triangle in the picture isn't a right triangle

I fail to see how this is not a right triangle then.

If all sides are 19, wouldn't that imply a right angle?

I don't see how it can work any other way.

wait no sry im wrong i just re-read the question lol the line that splits the square (the hypotenuse) would be longer than the 2 other sides which would both be equal

I don't see how it can work any other way.

it's an equilateral triangle.

In a right triangle the hypotenuse is the longest side. All sides are equal therefore it's NOT a right triangle.

The sign for a right angle is a box btw. Like in Mason's picture, but just because he drew one doesn't mean it's actually right angle
