i like Djokovic to win this tournament. I am a Nadal fan, but Djokovic deserves to win this, after some brutal matches. Also, as i mentioned above, he's on a hot streak.

I get where you are coming from and think Djokovic is a great player I just want to see Nadal have a chance at Wimbledon. To tell the truth I just dont want Federer to win, that'll make things interesting.

As for Dick Enberg, he's good people

The final could be again Federer vs Nadal. Nadal is doing pretty well despite the unlucky draw. Djokovic will be though for Nadal, but I think he can beat him. Gasquet looks pretty good too, he might be a challange for federer but Federer should be able to handle him.

Rafa has looked shaky at times... therefore I think he'll clean up the next two rounds....

lol, yeah right.... who are we kidding here, Federer will win yet another Wimbledon title, end of story...

let's just look forward to the US Open...

congrats to venus on her 4th wimbledon championship.
now on with federer-gasquet. looks good at the start off...........

Posted by Unique2701 on Jul-07-2007 21:47:

That was an unexpected loss of henin. I only saw the first set, and it looked like it was gonna be a piece of cake for her. She probably wouldnt have won from Venus anyways. Is it just me, or do I never hear anything about the Williams sisters except when there's a grand slam? So, they're basically too busy with going to the MTV awards etc the rest of the year?

I hope Nadal will win tomorrow but I think Federer has more chance of winning..

dunno, I thought they were on hiatus for a few years now, I didn't even know Venus was back... I thought she retired or something...

which makes it even more impressive to me... take all that time off to come back and dominate like she is....

congrats to federer on winning his 5th straight wimbledon title. a victory well deserved. and boo to that bbc reporter for not asking federer any personal questions to make federer cry "again" in front of the national audience.

Roger Federer is the most dominating athlete of this generation.

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Jul-09-2007 02:21:

this video is a small dispute to your statement ...... . we can't really make a measuring stick to "the best athlete" of our generation, because so many people dominate their sports in a special way. i am not going to refute that federer is one of the best tennis players ever, but best athete of our time? if you compare kobayashi(food eating champion) against federer in terms of their accomplishments in their particular sport(you can put in your mind food eating contests are sports ..... ), then how would federer measure up to kobayashi?

Posted by SolemnThirsty on Jul-09-2007 02:38:

^i didn't say the best ever but most dominating. to have a season where he win 3 of the 4 grand slam, year in and year out, and to be in the final in every events where he enter is pretty much shows how gifted and how far above he is from his competitors. don't forget he is only 25 year old and he is still excelling and no sign of peaking, he still got another 3 or 4 years of high level of competition in him but as long as he avoid injury, there is no limit to what he can do. he will win that french open

i wonder who would win.. roger or sampras when he was at his peak...

sampras was just compleate sickness
i know roger is fucking good, but i dont get the same vive as i did when i used to watch sampras with my mum... she got me into tennis.

+1 Pete was just classic, I looked forward to his matches and enjoyed watching him play anyone really. Roger is great but I don't feel the need to watch him play unless it's in the finals or semi-finals against someone that could hypothetically beat him. I hate to say it but he makes the game boring.

He's great, but imo the greatest athlete of this generation is/was Lance armstrong. He consistently out performed all those drug enhanced riders and he did it totally clean.

I highly doubt that.

I'd probably vote Tiger Woods although he has had some off seasons (2004) and hasn't borken through in a major this season, but his typical season is a dream season for 95% of the Tour. Some people doubt that golf is really a "sport"...but they are morons. Tiger Woods is an amazing athlete. Right now though, Federer is killing the tennis world with his dominance but I agree that since Sampras retired, it hasn't been all that exciting to follow.

of our time, did jordan have any competition? i mean really could anyone stop him?

no....

this was so long ago i really cant remember, i just remember he was unstopable.
