Well that's the risk the U-20s take when they're on at the same time. And as I write this, Paraguay just scored their second. Looking forward to a Columbian spanking tonight at the hands of Argentina.

Watching Congo vs Austria and it's pretty entertaining.

Of course the quality of the football is not as par as Copa America, but every time has their moments of brilliance. The muck ups and mistakes also make the tourney more entertaining.

Seems every team has some flare in offence, but very few teams are very tight defensively, either not as well organized, or deficient physically

Saw the last 20 minutes of the game...

wow, atleats its entertaining! The Refs and (like you said) mistakes really do make for an exciting game!

Gotta love that extra shot that the Austrians got in the 93rd minute when the game should've been over..

If thats the best team we can put together from a country of 35 million people it's a sad state of affairs!

Unfortunately I think Canada will be lucky to pull off a tie nil-nil or 1-1 at best from what I saw so far!

Czech Republic vs North Korea was mildly entertaining. Final score 2-2

North Korea was stronger side in first half with classy individual effort by striker Kim Kuk Min who from the left flank pwns 2 Czech defenders and finishes brilliantly. Lots of hustle and effort winning balls and creating chances from all over the field.

Czechs got reorganized and got back in 2nd half by asserting themselves more physically with good striker from outside the box by Kalouda and a tap in by Penney. North Korean defence is prone to miscommunication esp centrebacks. They are very strong when on top of their game in defence.

North Korea is can counterattack and show brilliant touches technically... Individually awesome at times... Like that dummy led to penalty. Doesn't panic when behind and very patient for openings.
Their game vs Argentina could be very entertaining.

Brazil vs South Korea at 11... So no spoilers!

Brazil 3-2 South Korea

South Korea pressures Brazil early on with some nifty throughballs and passing but Brazil recovers with some good play by Luizao and David Luiz. Brazil then goes on attack as South korea can't put together much with Luizao and David Luiz ensuring no real threat comes near the keeper.

Alexandre Pato scores 2 and Amaral made one crazy run pwning 3 Korean defenders before scoring.

Then on 83 min, South Korea scores off a corner kick. Korean striker Shin misses a free header from near the penalty spot but puts away another chance few mins later. Brazil's defence was on the ropes as Koreans put together some good passing and Shin misses a chance wide open shooting straight into the keeper.

Crazy game.

I think Brazil deserved to win, as South Korea's defence while worked hard, but couldn't contain Brazil's talent. South Korea can definitely attack. Just need to finish a bit better on their chances.

Korea better win vs Poland or they are out.

Man It should have been 3-3. Korea Brought it the last part of the game and missed a couple golden ops! Right at the end they shot it right into the keepers arms from the 18 yd line!

WAY TO GO MEXICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Yohan on Jul-06-2007 01:47:

Well. That was pathetic effort by Canada.

I don't mind when a team loses, but just the lack of effort disappoints me. No hustle or work ethic at all. It's not like Austria played well, or Canada wasn't good enough to beat Austria. And Canada is supposedly the home team, but played like away team

Can't string passes, or beat a man one on one. Crosses were abysmal. Defence was ok but shaky at times.

Missing the net from like 5 yds out is just pathetic. You know a team is lacking in balls when in desperate is reduced to launching hopeful long balls up the field, compared to teams like South korea even when down 3-0, tries to create using passing and runs.

This Dale Mitchell dude who is suppose to take over as the senior men's team manager, I'm not sure if he's the right guy if this is the level of effort he can get his boys to put out.

My dog could have scored that last chance Canada had... and I don't even have a dog...
