lol where are the headphones
maybe some of you know Girl Talk (greg gillis)
he's all the rage with the hipsters in Ithaca where I go to school and I opened for him when he came up.
fool played a completely prerecorded set out of cool edit and then acted like a maniac. at one point he took off his clothes, took a jack-o-lantern and put it on his head and then jumped into the crowd all why he was supposedly 'mixing'.
at least he doesn't call himself a deejay haha

What a twat. It's people like this who give Dj'ing a bad name, and is one of the reasons EDM has trouble with being a respected artform.
Not using headphones, doesn't mean anything though - I saw Cassius at pacha ibiza last year and even though his set was shit music-wise, his mixing was crazy, tight and without headphones.

This guy is your full blow proof that simply having fun while throwing down tracks is enough to work a crowd. People obviously love it and he gets everyone goin nuts. I think I would have a blast at one of his shows! |

It doesn't qualify someone to stand up and make an arse out of the whole DJing thing. I wouldn't expect Tony Wilson to automatically qualify to do lead vocals for the Happy Mondays just through his association with the whole movement. Jarv |
Any of you seen him live? Cos I have, n its Peter Hook, n it fucking rocked. I had my suspicions about whether he was actually mixing, but fuck it, he was playing tunes you just don't hear anywhere else n the crowd (1500 ppl at an outdoor festival) were going absolute mental.
Usually I'd care if a DJ was doing this, but the tunes were wicked, n his stupid moves were taking the piss of other DJs the entire time - hence, a fucking fun party!

yeah he's fakin it
Wow---
Guy doesn't look like he's mixing ... but at the end he is there and we are all here. He seems to move the crowd and is a successful musician. I give him credit where he deserves it...he needs to work on his dance skillz though
Well its kinda obvious why he pre-records his sets... if he didnt he wouldnt have enough time to pull off his crazy dance moves and act like a fool up there..

wow, i couldn't watch that... please make it stop.
this guy's my new hero. do the march dance! stomp, stomp, stomp stomp.....
TLMFAO
this thread is soo funny! i know he's faking it, BUT there has to be something we're not being told... i mean this guy has mad gigs and plays to large crowds. i watched all the videos and dont see him doing anything but eqing (fake eqing). i read some of his myspace page and people love this guy. my best guest is that he remixes and mixes the songs at home/in a studio and then plays them at the clubs/venues.
LOL, I want some of whatever he is on.
on a more serious note though, the crowd seemed to be getting a kick out of it though even if it was a prerecorded set so he is doing his job no?
How the mighty have fallen...........
He is now an overweight, sweaty, fake piece of shit!
I dont give a fuck who he is. He is a waste of space and should hang up his headphones in shame!!....................oh hang on
What was the song he was playing in the Hong Kong vid?
