I saw PVD twice in melb over the past few years and i can say he honestly didnt do it for me at all. Played a very dark sound. nothim epic.. i coudlnt understand why he was number one...

Then i saw him in ibiza and it was the best club set ive ever seen...

Then i just recently saw him @ dance valley and it was simply amazing.. just the best,..

Now i understand why he's number one.. by a long shot.

The contrast in what he played in melbourne compared to what he played at these other venues was massive. so i really I hope he plays the 'good shit' when he hits aus. cos last 2 times were mediocure..

maybe coz AU Is so damn far from Germany he doesn't get enough time to actually recover from the flight so he's wrecked by the time he has to play, and he's feeling dark and gloomy coz Melb weather sucks wang so that's how his sets came out

When I saw him in Berlin for Love Week 2004 he was indeed a different person. He was smiling and rocking away!

Eeeeeexcelent.

They better not put him in earth again. I still remember the look of disgust on his face when he walked on to the decks. he was pointing at the low roof, the huge beam in the middle of the dance floor and shaking his head. I felt his pain.
Put him on at HQ and im there 4 sure. Earth is too small for a DJ like PVD.

he played really late and im pretty sure it was daylight savings so an exta hour was gained

will go see him based on what saw OS last year, seems that he does play differently in Aus compared to Europe, not better necessarily but different

We might as well cut and paste the thread from last year where all the people who have been to Europe say he was better there but they will be kind and give him there 5 minutes in Australia - with hesitation.

If everything is better in Europe can you please move there

Its fuckin PVD man and we are on tranceaddict. You WILL go, you WILL worship and you WILL have a fuckin ball

If not Deeman will personally refund your money

Behold, my arse.

Won't be wasting my time again....HUGE disappointment last year...talk about overrated...I'd rather save myself for Europe

Is it to much to ask that a dj delivers the same quality that he does time and time again at other gigs which just so happen to be over seas rather than getting the short end of the stick, not just specific to pvd though i guess

Fri 12 October - Paul Van Dyk "In Between" @ The Metro

from hardware's myspace ^^

Posted by MiSSyM on Jul-18-2007 04:20:

Rasta

Heard he played a 5 hour FULLY TRANCE rocking set (heaps of classics) in Ibiza recently.

I think that has restored my faith!

Posted by Trance Nutter on Jul-19-2007 18:35:

I saw 7 hous of Pvd in 8 days (6 at Love from Above and 1 at Dance Valley).

He's still awesome.

Yeah 'White Lies' sucks the sweat off a monkeys balls, but thats only one track out of 3 hours he'll play, he'll still kill it for the rest.

Will I go see himin Aus? Fuck yeah, every time without hesistation.

Also, whoever is saynig he played Melbourne and Adelaide on the same ight is wrong. That might have been the one about 5 years ago, but he played here on a tuesday night last time.
And it was fucking good.

Posted by chrisg on Jul-20-2007 04:12:

Lol.

Well the last time i saw him was in Sydney on a Sunday night with an operation to come the following morning. He was fucking ace, and he played all 3 mixes of Nothing But You and he did the little drumroll bit with some imaginary drumsticks. (Better than the one-armed drummer from Def Leppard)

He has his own 737 chartered for the trip this time and it has a special O2 tent so he arrives fresh and play's his fucking hap-hap-happiest tunes.

Posted by dan_essential on Jul-20-2007 23:36:

For the past 10 years in Melbourne, Van Dyk has absolutely raised the roof every time. Playing everything from, uplifting, progressive, techno, breaks, and even tribal. My older brothers have told me that he can move you from one mood, to another in so many ways through his technique. Their clips on phones of him tell that, they show his impact, not just at the front of the crowd, but at every corner. He has the ability to do so much, we all know that. We also know that he is the best!

Is there any additional information on this event?

Posted by Philby on Jul-22-2007 10:26:

wtf
i heard his new track on nova the other night.

YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!!
