Any recommendations for Italian??

www.alicefazoolis.com anyone ever been here?

Posted by chinamon on Jul-18-2007 21:04:

this thread couldnt have come at a better time. (thanks jeff!)

my friend's birthday is on august 1st so ive been trying to figure out where to take her. im debating between benihana or bymark. i think im leaning more towards benihana because its more relaxed there. i imagine bymark isnt the type of place where i could wear a hat, tshirt, jeans and running shoes. heheh.

Yes! I LOVE that place!

The one in Mississauga is where my mom takes me every time she picks me up from the airport - try the classic antipasti, so so good.

No, but put on a button shirt and lose the hat and you'll be fine. Trust me its worth the money.

Fazoolis is a chain, you know that right?
If you want something italian, go to a real italian place where there's no english on the menu

Kaji Sushi (Sushi) on Queensway and Islington the best sushi in T.

Be aware this is "omakase" menu, however you can preview the meals on their website to get a general idea.

small, casual and reasonably priced?

Terroni's (there's a location at Victoria/Richmond, Yonge/Balmoral, and Queen St. W.)

http://www.terroni.ca/

much better food than any of the chains, IMHO.

I was there last night (the one on King Street)
Have to say I was not that impressed - it was good but nothing to write home about.
Oh and the table we were sat was kinda rediculous. We were right at the back by the door I am pretty sure the use for deliveries. lol.
I may give it another try once summerlicious is over.

sorry to hear that :\ they are a little constrained in terms of space though, I think next time I'll reserve one of those booths, because corner tables tend to get a little uncomofortable

I went there twice - once for winterlicious, and once for just a regular night, we both enjoyed the regular menu (I had pasta I think, and Mikey had ribs I believe)

Nope I don't, I don't really know anything about that place, so asking for info haha. It still looks like a nice place regardless if it's a chain lol. Looking it up, it only has 6 locations, so that's not too bad I guess.
I need english on the menu so I know what I'm buying! I don't know Italian! Although I'm sure I could figure it out

When it comes to me I always mension Terra on Yonge St. and Hwy. 7
Nice interior, good food and good service.
Although I can't go that often cause it's bit pricy.

I know this isn't in Toronto, but since you're on the topic of restaurant recommendations...Tiesto's restaurant "Cineac" in Amsterdam...fucking phenomenal! The decor was unique, the food was outstanding, the service was beyond exceptional. I recommend it to anyone and everyone. It's a dim sum type concept (so asian food). A little pricey, but literally worth every single penny. And don't worry, there's nothing that even comes close to reminding you that Tiesto is part of it.
