I got there at 8:30, and there was no line to get in, which was a huge plus from last year.

I think they had the same amount of restrooms (which weren't enough last year), but they split them up into two places. I prefer port-o-potties than the flooding trailers, but to each his own...

Yes, the sound was off. It wasn't awful, but I did have problems with the highs as others have said.

It was too hot in the garage. I couldn't stay in there more than a couple minutes of a time...I would rather be dancing outside anyway.

But, everyone was cool, it was a beautiful night (not like last year, OMG), and they didn't run out of water.

I really don't think the $7 waters are a huge deal; just know you're going to spend a decent amount of $ on them. (at Coachella, I budget at least $40/d for water...that's 20 bottles!)

IMHO, I think they went overboard last year (3 stages + tent) with a ton of talent...this year they completely scaled it down to try and make a profit. I would rather see 2 stages (rather than 1 stage + the parking garage); one with house and the other with trance.

Maybe the 3rd year will be the best?

Sound was OK when I entered. Around 11PM or so, speakers started to fart. I looked at the sound guy and he was not even paying attention. Then, I thought the problem might be on Armin's side. Sound on the left side was very bad. In the center, it was best but still mediocre. Around VIP, sound wasn't that bad either. Either, they adjusted the speakers so they sound OK for the VIP or one of the speaker blew up.

Ghost Smilie shocking surprise

Sorry for the intrusion, but I've been asked to point out that Kristina Sky was spotted at the event, but did not make her way backstage... to the great relief of pretty much all of us there (and the big man on stage)

Done.

Philippe wanted to share hair club secrets with AvB and was afraid she'd get in the way.

My Rank 1 videos from saturday:

Armin vs. Rank 1 - This World Is Watching Me

Rank 1 - Airwave

And a few pics HERE

Besides the songs on the videos, Rank 1 also played Life Less Ordinary, Superstring and Communication. Their set was definitely the highlight of the evening for me. Susana did a good job too but Armin bored me to death with the progressive and fluffy trance songs that all sounded the same to me. I was hoping to hear more than 3-4 harder songs but at least he played my current fav King of My Castle (SvD remix) Btw, I agree about the sucky sound. Even a couple of performers pointed it out....

Well I'm glad someone said it. I mean, what would we have done without this essential piece of information? Thank you sir, for continuing to make this forum a better place. For all of us.
I only wish I could have joined this wonderfully priveleged group of backstage stars and watch Armin do the jesus pose from behind. What a sight to behold!

Did anybody have the tracklist from that night?

Posted by sweetcandy girl on Jul-18-2007 06:05:

I had such a great time at This years Giant Village. Got in around 7:40 and Armin was all ready one! He played for over 8 hrs and did not even take one bathroom break! Don't know how he did it.

Over all I enjoyed Armin's set. There where some points in it that made me go WTF is up with this Track and transition. But over all I thought he did Great! His last 2 hours where amazing though. If he played like that all night. Man oh Man oh Man!!! \o/

I am shocked that no had said anything about Jennifer Rene's performance. I loved hearing her live! I also loved Rank 1!
Oh those yellow things that covered the wires where not my friend in go-go's

I also agree with most of you.. the sound was a little bit off. I could not handle it in the middle so I stayed stage left when I was out there.

So MUCH FUN!!!!

I am about to post my pictures

if someone shows me their TL from the beginning up to the point where he played Parker & Hanson - Its Not Too Late, I'll show everyone mine.

Oh and my hearing just came back. There wasn't one bad looking girl on stage! They were all really cute or hot and I think there was about 20 of them too! Not bad at all!!!

Girls were the prettiest of all the EDM's I have seen last 2-3 years. I had given up on EDM girls. But, this is a different crowd than Avalon/Vanguard/Circus/Rave events, girls are still ugly there

for those nay-sayers and overly critical opinions of Armins 8 hr performance ... based on my humble opinion... the event was awesome...weather perfect, it wasn't overly crowded, for the most part he played most of the popular hit trance songs along with live singing. If it weren't for him....do you think you would see Rank1 with both artists up there giving us that incredible show. I've followed rank1 for the last 5 yrs and have never seen both on stage here in L.A......don't get me wrong ...Piet is always great but I've never seen him perform with Benno. That night to me was SPECIAL!!

Do yourself a favor and plan an Ibiza trip in the near future. The dancers come out in herds of 30 or 40. All HOT, all SEXY, and all know how to dance!
