It's true, I often make spelling errors, however, is it not preferable to use the correct word then to mispell an incorrect one? English is a tremendous language, which if employed correctly can be both beautiful and exceedingly percise. Poor diction leads to ambiguity, which results in inefficient communication.

I like your proper use of commas though.

See, the orientation is all wrong. If I'm posed with such a challenge, I just put everything away, and leave one item (probably the pencil in this case, because using pen makes me nervous because I can't erase my mistakes).

The pencils aren't parallel to the pens

HEY, I'm here!

Seriously, this post is out of line. Everyone should have their say regardless of whether or not it is palatable to all. Moreover, why would you want to silence people that are trying to raise the general level of understanding or clearing up ambiguity? The only motivation I can see is that being corrected is uncomfortable. If that's the motivation then that's just plain sad.

you clearly missed my point. the comment was intended to be sarcastic. Diginuts posts are often quite arrogant. It has nothing to do with how inteligent he or his posts, may be.

so, STFU. kplzthx

You failed in your attempt, no worries though, sarcasm is a difficult rhetorical device when one is restricted to text.

my mistake, i shouldve italicized obviously superior intellect. That wouldve cleared things up for you, no?

Indeed. For further tips on effective use of sarcasm, please see Chem Enhanced's Tiesto thread.

No, he got your point perfectly, as did I. You simply missed ours. If I went around telling everybody that I had AIDS because I catch colds easily (which I don't, this is just an example), I'm fairly certain that somebody would eventually tell me to shove it up my ass.

That's because most people know what AIDS is. A lot of people have no fucking clue what OCD really is or how serious it is, nor do they really understand the difference between sadness and clinical depression, or the difference between having ADD and being a lazy worthless fuckface. And that's okay - just don't talk about it!

It's simply annoying - call it "OCD" on my part if you want. I call it pop psychology, and it's something that everyone with even the tiniest shred of knowledge about real psychology despises. And I admit, I only do know a tiny shred about it, but it's still enough to recognize this kind of Grade-A bullshit when I see it.

This has nothing to do with intellect. It doesn't bother me in the slightest, for example, that I work with people who don't know much about computers. That's my job, not theirs. It does bother me when people decide to sound off about something they don't even remotely understand, especially when they get defensive and lash out after being corrected. That's not necessarily stupidity, it's just ignorance combined with a lousy attitude, which in many ways is even worse than stupidity.

I'll keep the cucumber up my ass, thanks. It feels nice and it helps me keep perspective instead of falling into the blissful world of smug self-satisfaction.

I don't think Diginut is that bad. He's clearly just allergic to stupidity.

He should defiantly take an antihistamine, then.

Or ignore 50% of the posts here.

Although reading his responses to posts on this forum is a guilty pleasure of mine.

It tickles me how much his insights and opinions irritate others.

Scathing criticism of idiots is the only antihistamine I need.
